State-owned SJVN Ltd has bagged 100 MW solar power project worth Rs 600 crore from Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN, participated in an open competitive tariff bidding process followed by e-Reverse Auction (e-RA) organised by Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (RUVNL). Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN, informed in a statement that SJVN has bagged 100 MW State Transmission Utility (STU) connected solar power project in Rajasthan. SGEL bagged the project at a tariff of Rs 2.62 per unit on Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis in the bidding process, the statement said on Friday. Further, Sharma apprised that the ground mounted solar project will be developed by SGEL anywhere in Rajasthan through EPC contract. With the allotment of this project, SJVN now has 1,100 MW solar power projects in Rajasthan, including 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Project which is scheduled to be commissioned during the current financial .

Four people died when a trailer crashed into their van near Ratangarh in Churu district of Rajasthan, police said on Thursday. The accident happened late Wednesday when the trailer collided head-on with a van moving in the opposite direction, they said. Three persons travelling in the van died on the spot. The fourth, who was seriously injured, succumbed during treatment at a hospital, the officials added. The deceased have been identified as Kaluram, Dilip Kumar, Nemichand and Prabhuram, police said, adding their bodies have been handed over to the relatives after a post-mortem examination. Efforts are on to nab the trailer driver, who fled the crime site after the accident, they added.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday said 1.96 crore guarantee cards have been distributed in the state through the ongoing "Mahangai Rahat" camps where registration for 10 government schemes is being done. Addressing a public rally in Udaipur's Kotda, Gehlot said 3,000 such camps are being organised in the state through which 1.96 crore guarantee cards have so far been distributed. The camps started from April 24. Registration for 10 schemes is being done at these camps and the beneficiaries are given guarantee cards. After the registration, the benefits will be passed on to the eligible people from the date of the commencement of the schemes. "Our focus is on the inflation relief camps so that families can save some money by taking the benefits of government schemes. We have given a guarantee for 10 schemes," the chief minister said. The state government is realising its resolution of 'Nirogi Rajasthan', Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Saturday, referring to the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme and the Right to Health Act. Gehlot was speaking at the inauguration of a building and staff quarters of the Government Prabha Tai Ojha Primary Health Centre, Gusaisar Bada, in Bikaner's Sri Dungargarh. Speaking on the occasion, Gehlot said education and health care are the priorities of the state government. Under the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme, free medical facilities up to Rs 25 lakh are being provided to people of the state in all government hospitals, Gehlot said. The minimum monthly pension has also been increased to Rs 1,000 under the social security scheme, he added while highlighting the government's other schemes. The Rajasthan government will give free smartphones with three years of internet pack to 40 lakh women on the festival of Raksha Bandhan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced on Friday. The festival will be celebrated in August-end. "In the Chiranjeevi scheme, we have made all women the head (of the family). 1.35 crore women have become the head of the household. These women will get a smartphone along with three years of free internet," Gehlot said while addressing the people after visiting the price relief camp in Rawatsar town of Hanumangarh. "We have decided that on Raksha Bandhan, 40 lakh smartphones will be given to women in Rajasthan," he added.
