Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said logistics management by various agencies was a deciding factor in the success of Operation Sindoor launched by the Indian armed forces in May, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan post the Pahalgam attack. Navy to induct first indigenous diving support vessel 'Nistar' on July 18

'Nistar', the first indigenously constructed diving support vessel that can undertake deep-sea diving and rescue operations, is set to be inducted into the Indian Navy on July 18, officials said on Thursday. The ship will be commissioned at a ceremony to be held at the Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam, in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, they said. 'Nistar', designed and constructed by Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Visakhapatnam, was delivered to the Indian Navy on July 8 at Visakhapatnam. The ship will also serve as the 'Mother Ship' for Deep Submergence Rescue Vessel (DSRV) to rescue and evacuate personnel in case of an emergency in a submarine underwater, a Navy spokesperson said on Wednesday. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his American counterpart Pete Hegseth have agreed to firm up a 10-year framework to further expand defence and strategic ties between India and the US.
