The encounter triggered intense firing and explosions, the officials said. Pak can build itself despite internal, external conspiracies, says Zardari

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari said on Sunday that his country will continue to build itself despite internal and external conspiracies. Addressing the Pakistan Day military parade at Aiwan-e-Sadr (President's House), Zardari congratulated the nation and said that the objective of Pakistan was to set up a welfare state where the rule of law should be supreme. Pakistan was achieved after many sacrifices and we would not hesitate from any sacrifice to keep it safe, he said. He said that Pakistan, being a strong and determined nation, has the ability to face challenges and we will continue to build Pakistan despite internal and external conspiracies. He alleged that India had always tried to cast an evil eye on Pakistan while militants through the fitna-e-Khawarj (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan) also posed a threat to the country. We want to tell them that the Pakistani nation and its armed forces stand shoulder to shoulder and would foil their nefarious designs, he said. He also s

11 dead in two security ops against militants in Pak's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Pakistan's security forces raided two militant hideouts in the country's restive northwest on Saturday, triggering gun battles that left at least two soldiers and nine militants dead, the military said in a statement. The raids were conducted in the Mohmand and Dera Ismail Khan districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which borders Afghanistan. According to local police officials, the insurgents were Pakistani Taliban, who are known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, or TTP. The outlawed TTP is a separate group but an ally of the Afghan Taliban, who seized power in neighbouring Afghanistan in August 2021 as US and NATO troops were in the final stages of a withdrawal from the country after 20 years of war. Many TTP leaders and fighters have found sanctuaries and have even been living openly in Afghanistan since the Taliban takeover, which also emboldened the Pakistani Taliban. Separately on Saturday, insurgents ambushed security forces in the northwestern Kurram district of Pakistan,

Deposed Bangladesh PM Hasina blames Yunus for lawlessness in country

Deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina has accused Bangladesh's interim government chief Muhammad Yunus for the lawlessness in the country and said he has unleashed terrorists on its people. During the conversations, which appeared on social media on Tuesday, Hasina is seen consoling the mourning family members saying she was expecting to return home and avenge the killings. I will return and avenge the deaths of our policemen, she said and added that when her government was toppled, she too narrowly escaped death, by the grace of God, who definitely kept her alive to do .
