Om Prakash Rajbhar is not "untouchable" for BJP, Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, the party president for Uttar Pradesh, has said. Chaudhary's remark comes in the backdrop of a recent meeting between Rajbhar, the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party Chief, and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak in Lucknow. "No one is untouchable for BJP. Whoever agrees with the views of the BJP, the party is ready to take him with it. BJP is a big ocean. A sessions judge, who is conducting trial in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case in which Union minister Ajay Kumar Mishra's son is an accused, on Wednesday informed the Supreme Court that it might take around five years to conclude the trial in normal course. In a letter sent to the apex court, the additional sessions judge said there are 208 prosecution witnesses, 171 documents and 27 forensic science laboratory (FSL) reports in the case. "He (sessions judge) says in normal course, it may take five years," said a bench of Justices Surya Kant and V Ramasubramanian. The top court had last month asked the sessions court how much time in normal course was it likely to take to conclude the trial, without compromising with the schedule of other pending or prioritised matters in that court. Hi-Tech Pipes on Monday said it has signed an agreement with the UP Government to set up a steel manufacturing facility in the state at an investment of Rs 510 crore. BJP MP Varun Gandhi has asked sugar mills to clear dues they owe to farmers or be ready to face protests. At a public function in Arsiaboj village in Baheri assembly segment, which falls under his parliamentary constituency of Pilibhit, Gandhi said if sugar mills don't start paying dues to farmers immediately, a protest meet by cane-growers will be organised at their gates. He named two sugar mills in particular. He also raised questions over the unemployment scenario in the country. "One crore government posts are lying vacant, the government should fill these posts. We are ready to help," he said. The farmers also told the MP that stray animals were harming their crops. Keshari Nath Tripathi, former governor of West Bengal, Bihar and two other states, died at his home in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on Sunday. He was 88. "Keshari Nath Tripathi had recently fallen in his house following which he broke his collarbone. Three days ago, he came back home after being discharged from a hospital. Today (on Sunday) at around 5.00 am, he breathed his last," his daughter-in-law Kavita Yadav Tripathi said. Born on November 10, 1934, in Allahabad, Tripathi served as the Governor of West Bengal from July 2014 to July 2019. Before that, he also had additional charges for short stints as the Governor of Bihar, Meghalaya and Mizoram. He was a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly six times and was the Cabinet minister of institutional finance and sales tax in the state during the Janata Party regime from 1977 to 1979. A poet and author, Tripathi had practised as a senior advocate at Allahabad High Court and was the BJP president in Uttar Pradesh for some .
