Need cyber police station in all districts of UP, says CM Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said there is a need to set up a cyber police station in every district of the state. Adityanath held a high-level meeting with officials of the Home Department on Saturday, the state government said in a statement here. There is a need to establish a cyber police station in every district of the state, the chief minister told the officials. He said the campaign against illegal manufacturing, sales and trafficking of drugs should be intensified, according to the statement. Vigilance should be increased on inter-state and international borders. The festival of Chhath which gives the message of human beings' connection with the nature is a living example of the country's rich tradition and culture of conservation of natural resources, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Saturday. EC didn't follow rules relating voter list in UP elections: Akhilesh Yadav

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has alleged that the Election Commission did not follow rules while preparing the voters' list in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls earlier this year. SP's Azam Khan disqualified as member of UP Assembly after hate speech case

The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly secretariat on Friday announced the disqualification of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan from the House, a day after a court sentenced him to three years in jail in a hate speech case. Principal Secretary of the UP Legislative Assembly Pradeep Dubey told PTI that the Assembly Secretariat declared the Rampur Sadar Assembly seat as vacant. "A vacancy has been declared by the UP Vidhan Sabha Secretariat consequent upon the disqualification due to the judgment passed by the court," he said. The Rampur MP-MLA court had on Thursday convicted Khan in a 2019 hate speech case and had sentenced him to three years of imprisonment. The Representation of the People Act says that anyone sentenced to imprisonment of two years or more shall be disqualified "from the date of such conviction" and remain disqualified for another six years after serving time in jail.

Saharanpur district officials on Sunday declared Darul Uloom, Deoband- an Islamic education institution- as an 'illegal' unrecognized madrassa, following a survey conducted by the government submitted its report.The district officials named 306 other unrecognized Islamic education institutions in their report as illegal."Information about 306 illegal madrasas that were traced was sent to Administration. Darul Uloom Deoband is also an illegal madrasa and is deprived of scholarships & other schemes," Bharat Lal Gond, District Minority Welfare Officer said."An investigation was done on basis of parameters set by the Administration like the year of establishment of the madrasa, the society that runs it, the name of the madrasa, and their source of income," he added."Whatever decision the administration takes, based on that complaint will be filed," BL Gond further said.According to reports, 754 madrassas are registered with the district administration.
