Arvind Q3 net up 46% at Rs 75 crore

The company saw growth of 16% in revenue at Rs 1,405 crore in third quarter of FY13

With its both textile and brands & retail business growing steadily, Arvind Limited posted a consolidated 46% rise in its net profit after tax for the third quarter ended December 31, 2012.

One of the largest integrated textile and branded apparel players, Arvind posted a net profit from ordinary activities after tax of Rs 75 crore for the current fiscal's third quarter, up from Rs 52 crore for the previous quarter ended on December 31, 2011.

In terms of revenue, Arvind Limited saw a growth of 16% at Rs 1,405 crore in the third quarter of fiscal 2012-13 as against Rs 1,208 crore from the corresponding quarter last year.

 

Talking about the results, Jayesh Shah, director and CFO, Arvind Ltd. said, "The revenue, EBIDTA as well as PAT are at all time high. The margin for both textiles and brands & retail are on the rise. We continue to be moderately bullish as far as the overall business scenario is concerned as the demand from domestic and international market for textile continues to be strong."

At the operating level, consolidated EBIDTA for the quarter stood at Rs 191 crore as against EBIDTA of Rs 143 crore for the previous quarter ended on December 31, 2011, growth of 34%.

Further, during the quarter, textile business grew by 15% driven by 33% volume growth in shirting and khakhi fabric. Brands and retail business grew by 19%.

Arvind Ltd. was trading at Rs 94.60, up by 2.22% in the afternoon trades on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday.
