Colleague held in Tanya's murder case

The Karnataka police achieved a major breakthrough in the investigation related to the murder of Aviva BPO employee Tanya Banerjee with her colleague Kishore Gururaj reportedly confessing to committing the crime.
On Wednesday, the police had suspected the involvement of Kishore in the crime. He was picked up by the police for interrogation.
"He confessed to having committed the crime in Bangalore after picking her from the office. Subsequently, he dumped her body in the Sakleshpura police station limits. He is now under arrest," additional commissioner of police (law and order) Bipin Gopalkrishna told reporters here on Thursday.
Tanya had left office around 9.30 pm with Kishore on Tuesday. The police said that Kishore was reportedly unhappy with the "conduct" of Tanya, who he intended to marry.
"He told us that Tanya slapped him when he questioned her conduct in the office. Enraged by this, Kishore stabbed her 30 times with a knife in Bangalore. We are trying to trace the weapon and Tanya's mobile, which Kishore claims to have discarded after committing the crime," the police said.
The victim's body was found by the Sakleshpura police on Wednesday morning on the Hassan-Mangalore stretch of the National Highway 48, 180 kilometres from Bangalore.
This is the second such incident involving a call centre employee. In December 2005, 24-year-old Pratibha Srikanthamurthy was allegedly raped and killed by the driver of a car leased by her employers in Bangalore.
