IndiaSoft '08 expects 30% increase in business

BS Reporter Chennai/ Hyderabad
IndiaSoft 2008, a two-day international exhibition and conference scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from March 20, expects to achieve around 30 per cent more business, as against Rs 2,000 crore last year, said Sanjiv Narayan, chairman of the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion (ESC).

Comprising an international exhibition and conference, IndiaSoft 2008 will facilitate joint ventures, collaboration and strategic alliances for outsourcing with overseas buyers.

The annual event, being organised by ESC under the aegis of the Andhra Pradesh government, is expected to witness the participation of 200 software and services buyers from over 50 countries including West Asia, Japan, China, Korea, Latin America, Africa, CIS and the Asean region, he told mediapersons here on Wednesday.

"Around 10 IT companies such as Raasi Callnet (technology touch screen), Datawind Limited (pocket access control), Thatavarti Technologies (exclusive social networking portal for testing), MindGrid Technologies (EasyRetail ERP), Grapesoft Tech (software testing) and NLogix Solutions (Dynamic Navision) would use the event as a platform to launch their products," he added.

As a part of the future strategy for keeping up the tempo of software exports, Narayan said, ESC was tapping in an unprecedented manner the not-so-developed markets and virgin markets like Latin America, Africa, CIS and West Asia.

"These countries hold the promise for the future," he said.
