The Karnataka government has allotted 4,290 acres of land to the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) for aeronautical test range project at Chitradurga district, the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) said here today.
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has officially handed over the land documents to ADE, DRDO statement said.
The objective of the Rs 1,300 crore project is to build necessary infrastructure for testing and evaluating unmanned and manned aircraft being undertaken by aeronautic cluster labs in DRDO, it said. The project has been planned and conceived by ADE, Bangalore, in collaboration with other DRDO labs.
