Hsbc Names New India Head Honcho

Niall S K Booker is taking over as chief executive officer (CEO) of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd in India and country head for HSBC in India. Zarir J Cama, who is the current CEO, will take over as deputy chairman and CEO of HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad.
Booker, who took over as deputy chief executive officer, Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd, in July came from the US where he was chief executive officer, international private banking, Americas. Booker will formally take over as CEO on November 15. Sanjiv Bhasin will succeed Booker as DCEO of the bank in India. He was the CEO of HSBC Mauritius.
Incidentally Dyfrig Johnm, who was the CEO of the bank in India before Cama, also had moved to Malaysia as deputy chairman and chief executive officer. Both Malaysia and India are among the top 13 countries where HSBC is focusing its resources. John has now moved to UK as CEO of HSBC Bank Plc.
