Markets firm; ITC, Hindustan Unilever up 4%

The NSE Nifty is up 68 points at 4,084.

Reliance Infrastructure, Maruti and Jaiprakash Associates have surged 5.8% each to Rs 819, Rs 582 and Rs 162, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has rallied 4.5% to Rs 501. ACC has gained 4% at Rs 502.

Satyam has advanced over 4% to Rs 482. ITC and Hindustan Unilever have gained 3.6% each at Rs 177 and Rs 209, respectively.

DLF, ICICI Bank, SBI and Bharti Airtel have added 3.3% each to Rs 428, Rs 620, Rs 1,164 and Rs 739, respectively.

Infosys and Tata Steel have moved up 2.8% each to Rs 1,805 and Rs 658, respectively.

 

Hindalco, Grasim and Wipro are up around 2.5% each at Rs 142, Rs 1,736 and Rs 439, respectively.

Tata Motors and Reliance Communicaitions have shed 2% each at Rs 393 and Rs 430, respectively.

Reliance is down 1% at Rs 2,079.

Out of 2,627 stocks traded so far, 1,935 have advanced, 631 have declined and the balance are unchanged.
