Red Bull driver Mark Webber, who bade farewell to the Formula One on Sunday with a second place in the Brazilian GP, received a great honour as team chief Christian Horner shouted on the radio that he was proud of what the Australian had done.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Horner also claimed on the team radio that it had been a fantastic race and it had been brilliant working with Webber for him.
Webber's final day started and ended with a flavour of Australia, as he was welcomed into his garage with applause from his Red Bull team with the bush ballad Waltzing Matilda playing in the background, the report said.
The team also draped an Australian flag above his car, bearing the number two, with a pit board alongside reading 'Thank you Mark' and on the final podium, the flag was lifted again, the report added.
Horner said that Webber has had a tremendous career and it had been great to see him achieve what he had.
