Utilties stocks slide

Utilties stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Utilities index decreasing 12.07 points or 0.47% at 2555.33 at 13:49 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (down 4.92%), Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 4.43%),Indraprastha Gas Ltd (down 1.52%),Adani Transmission Ltd (down 1.37%),Mahanagar Gas Ltd (down 1.24%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were NHPC Ltd (down 0.74%), Gujarat Industries Power Co Ltd (down 0.72%), CESC Ltd (down 0.7%), SJVN Ltd (down 0.69%), and Torrent Power Ltd (down 0.63%).

On the other hand, Rattanindia Power Ltd (up 4.9%), Adani Power Ltd (up 1.3%), and Indian Energy Exchange Ltd (up 1.23%) turned up.

 

At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 45.86 or 0.09% at 52542.85.

The Nifty 50 index was down 13.8 points or 0.09% at 15758.95.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 24.48 points or 0.1% at 25084.79.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 30.06 points or 0.39% at 7765.97.

On BSE,1733 shares were trading in green, 1409 were trading in red and 137 were unchanged.
