Main Accused In Coimbatore Blasts Remains Elusive

Intelligence agencies remain clueless about the whereabouts of Karikudi Haneefa, believed to be involved in Coimbatore bomb blasts.
Haneefa is said to have operated from Coimbatore and was seen on the day the blasts took place. However, since then he has eluded the Tamil Nadu police.
While Al-Umma Basha is believed to be the main person behind the blasts, IB is of the view that until Haneefa is apprehended, Basha may not give any details. Intelligence sources say Karukudi Haneefa is the mastermind behind the operation.

According to sources, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) had given the Tamil Nadu police details about Haneefas modus operandi weeks ago.
They allege that Basha was in touch with the operational team in Coimbatore till the raid which gave him adequate opportunity to get Haneefa out of polices reach.
Intelligence sources are also unhappy at the way Bashas arrest was handled by the Tamil Nadu police and insufficient details given by them on bombs, detonators and arms seized in the raid.
Intelligence sources believe Haneefa is the key to solving the case, since he is believed to be ISIs link to financiers and field operators in India.
Though the Tamil Nadu police has arrested over three hundred people, only eight seem to be involved in the case. These eight people are hired field operators, who know nothing about Haneefa, intelligence sources said.
