Mrtpc Probe Notice To Lever Johnson

The MRTPC has issued a notice of enquiry against Lever Johnson Consumer Products for misleading advertisements on Domex, its floor cleaning product.
The notice, which is returnable on August 29, follows a complaint by Reckitt and Coleman (R&C) which markets Lizol, a floor cleaning liquid. Reckitt filed the complaint before the commission on May 29.
Both on the pack and in television advertisements Lever Johnson had claimed 100 per cent germ-kill from Domex. R&C, however, contended that 100 per cent germ-kill is possible only when the product is used undiluted.
This apart, in the advertisements the Lever product had been shown diluted in water. The corporation has asked the company to prominently insert the phrase when used undiluted after the claim of 100 per cent germ-kill.
