AR Rahman's '99 Songs' enters Cannes market
Music maestro AR Rahman's debut film '99 songs' is all set for an international introduction at Cannes 2019.Autumn Sun, a Hong-Kong based sales agency has taken the lead to introduce the film to the international distributors at the festival, reports Variety.The story written and produced by Rahman follows the journey of a struggling singer and the problems he comes across on his way to come out as an ace composer.Not only in India, but Rahman has earned fame worldwide winning five Oscar nominations. The composer has also won a Golden Globe for '127 Hours'.His debut film stars newbie Ehan Bhat and also features Edilsy Vargas, R. Noah Centineo's He-Man Pic Set for 2021 Release
Sony Pictures' He-Man movie fronted by actor Noah Centineo will hit the theatres on March 5, 2021. Titled Masters of the Universe, the film is based on the popular He-Man toyline, which served as the basis for an animated TV series (1983-85) as well as a 1987 film. Aaron and Adam Nee are set to direct the Mattel Films production from a script rewritten by screenwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. David S Goyer had previously written the script. The story revolves around He-Man aka Prince Adam, who uses his magical Power Sword to transform into a powerful warrior and battle the villainous Skeletor with the help of his allies Teela, Man-at-Arms, Orko and The Sorceress.
James Gunn's superhero-horror film 'Brightburn' gets India release date
Hollywood filmmaker James Gunn-produced horror film 'Brightburn' will release in India on May 29.Announcing the release date on Twitter, film critic and trade analyst, Taran Adarsh wrote, "A superhero - horror film... Brightburn to release on 24 May 2019 in India..."Introducing a new twist to the superhero culture, this film focuses on a radical new genre: superhero horror.The plot revolves around a child belonging from another world, who crashes-land on earth and instead of transforming into a hero with superpowers that can be used to save mankind from unknown threats, he turns into something far more sinister and dark.The film will feature Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect), David Denman (After Earth), Jackson A. Dunn (Gone Are the Days), Matt Jones (Dreamworld), and Meredith Hagner (Set It Up).Helmed by David Yarovesky and scripted by Gunn's brother Brian Gunn and his cousin Mark Gunn, the film will feature Elizabeth Banks.

Kareena Kapoor Khan she says she has taken a conscious decision to do films that are socially relevant. Some of her recent outings such as "Udta Punjab", "Ki and Ka", "Veere Di Wedding" and her next two releases "Good News" and "Angrezi Medium" deal with various social issues like substance abuse, feminism, surrogacy and education. "There is conscious effort to do movies that have social topic and subjects and stories that can touch hearts. Even if my part is smaller, I want to blend in films that are relevant. "Films like 'Veere Di Wedding' broke boundaries in many ways, it was a story of four friends, no one addressed their issues in public domain. Michelle Rodriguez is reprising her role of Leticia "Letty" Ortiz in "Fast & Furious 9" after managing to bring a female screenwriter on board. The actor, who has been attached with the action franchise since the beginning, had threatened to walk out of the films in an 2017 Instagram post unless producers showed "some love to the women of the franchise on the next one".
