TV actor Karan Oberoi arrested for raping, blackmailing woman

Mumbai-based television actor Karan Oberoi was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman here, police said.An FIR was registered at Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai under sections 376 (rape) and 384 (extortion) of the Indian Penal Code against Oberoi.ANI had earlier inadvertently linked another Karan Oberoi, a fitness model, to the alleged incident and regrets the same.According to the police, the actor allegedly raped the woman on the pretext of marrying her."Oberoi not only raped the woman and filmed the act but also demanded money from the victim threatening to release the video if she did not pay up," they said quoting the FIR..

Actors Swara Bhasker and Gul Panag would campaign for the Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday, adding more star power to the campaign of the party. While Bhasker will campaign for East Delhi candidate Atishi through a bike rally, Panag would be campaigning for South Delhi candidate Raghav Chadha. In the past two days, actor-turned-politician Prakash Raj and Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani had joined the AAP campaigning. Screening of short film featuring Pragya stopped by EC in MP

The screening of a short film featuring Bhopal BJP Lok Sabha candidate and Malegoan blast accused Pragya Singh Thakur among others was Monday stopped midway here by a team of the Election Commission and local police. The film, titled 'Bhagwa Aatankwad Bhramjaal' is centred around the Samjhauta Express, Malegaon, Ajmer Dargah and Mecca Masjid blasts and was being shown to journalists here by an organisation called Bharat Vichar Manch (BVM). Following a complaint by the Congress, a team of EC officials and personnel from MP Nagar police station stopped the screening, said Inspector Manish Rai. He said the EC had initially given permission to BVM for the show but recalled it after the Congress complained. A BVM member, who identified himself as Captain Vikas Pandey, said the Mumbai-based producer-director of the film, Rajiv Pandey, wanted to the launch the short film from MP. YouTube Music widely rolls out local file playback

As YouTube Music seeks to replace Google Play Music, it is being integrated with more features to please the listeners. The app is reportedly supporting local file playback on Android devices.As spotted by 9to5 Google, YouTube Music local playback is now more widely rolling out to users. The app asks users for permissions to local files, once enabled, users are able to see device files and play them through YouTube Music.However, the device files can't be queued up or played with YouTube Music playlists. BJP expresses shock over 'conspiracy' against Modi

The BJP on Monday expressed "shock" over a video in which Tej Bahadur Yadav, a sacked BSF soldier whose nomination as SP candidate from Varanasi was rejected by the EC, is purportedly talking about assassinating Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao said the video illustrates how in the face of imminent defeat political rivals have degenerated into using violent methods. Some news channels have shown the video but have not vouched for its authenticity. Rao said in a statement that the Maharashtra police had last year unearthed a conspiracy of urban Naxals to kill Modi. Dhoni reached the polling station less than 24 hours after leading Chennai Super Kings in an IPL game against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali. Veteran actor Barbara Perry, known for performance in films and TV shows like Samuel Fuller's "Shock Corridor" (1963), The Naked Kiss (1964), and "The Dik Van Dyke Show", has died at the age of 97. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, the family spokesperson, David Van Deusen said Perry died Sunday from natural causes in Hollywood.
