Indian Film Festival of Melbourne turns 10; to celebrate 'courage' in cinema, says organiser

Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is returning for its 10th chapter from August 8 to 17 and will celebrate "courage" as its central theme while offering a bouquet of stories dealing with tough issues, says festival director Mitu Bhowmick Lange. The festival, which was conceptualised in 2010, has seen cinema stalwarts such as Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, Kangana Ranaut, Rajkumar Hirani, Kabir Khan, Nikkhil Advani, Rani Mukerji, Freida Pinto, Richa Chadha, Konkona Sensharma and Ali Fazal as attendees. Veteran actor Tanuja hospitalised, to undergo operation

Veteran Bollywood actor Tanuja, who was hospitalised on Wednesday, will undergo an operation for a condition called diverticulitis. Tanuja, 75, was admitted to city-based Lilavati Hospital. Hospital sources told PTI, the actor will be operated for diverticulitis, a condition which results in the inflammation or infection of small pouches called diverticula that develop along the walls of the intestines. Actor Kajol, Tanuja's daughter, was also spotted visiting her at the hospital. The news came two days after Kajol's father-in-law, action director Veeru Devgan's death. Tanuja has appeared in prominent films like "Jewel Thief", "Haathi Mere Saathi", "Do Chor" among others.

American singer Ariana Grande's fans could be disappointed as the artist has postponed two Florida tour dates due to illness.The shows, which were originally scheduled for tonight (May 28) at Tampa's Amalie Arena and May 29 at Orlando's Amway Center, will now be held on November 24 and November 25, respectively.The singer posted the update on her Instagram story and wrote, "I woke up incredibly sick today, ran to my doctor here and have been told to postpone these shows tonight and tomorrow. Abhay Deol, who is venturing into streaming space with the Netflix release of his film "Chopsticks", says the new technology is disruptive and will bring fundamental changes to viewing experience. 'Jessica Jones' season three to premiere on June 14

The third and final season of Marvel superhero series "Jessica Jones" will premiere on Netflix on June 14. The show was among the five Marvel series that were cancelled by the streaming giant this year. Netflix had also pulled the plug on "The Punisher", "Daredevil", "Iron First", "Luke Cage" and "The Defenders", hinting at the end of its licensing partnership with Disney-owned Marvel. While advances in neonatal medicine now extremely premature babies a good chance of survival, these children remain at high risk of developing neuropsychological disorders. To help the brains of these fragile newborns develop as well as possible despite the stressful environment of intensive care, researchers at the University of Geneva (UNIGE) and the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG) in Switzerland created music written especially for them.
