Srinivasan Services Trust, the social arm of two and three-wheeler major TVS Motor Company and auto-components maker Sundaram-Clayton Ltd has lined up Rs 20 crore investment plan spread over the next three years, towards renovation of education infrastructure in rural areas. Srinivasan Services Trust said in the last 27 years, it has renovated about 1,000 anganwadis and over 800 schools at Rs 40 crore. In a press release on Friday, the Trust, commemorating National Education Day (November 11), said it plans to invest Rs 20 crore in the next three years towards the renovation of rural education infrastructure through the 'Namma School Foundation'. India, Australia education ministers agree to boost research collaborations

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday met his Australian counterpart Jason Clare and both the countries agreed to increase research collaborations in priority areas including mines and minerals and critical minerals, Pradhan said. The two countries agreed to have more research in areas of agriculture, mines and minerals, logistics, renewal energy, water management, healthcare and artificial intelligence, and increase student and faculty exchange programmes, dual degree, twin degree, and joint PhD, he said. PM inaugurates, lays foundation of projects worth 4,200 cr in Uttarakhand

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation of multiple development projects in Uttarakhand worth nearly Rs 4,200 crore. Appearing for class 10 and 12 board exams twice a year will not be mandatory and the concept is being introduced as an option to reduce students' stress caused by the fear of single opportunity, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said. In an interview to PTI, Pradhan said the issue of 'dummy schools' cannot be ignored and the time has come to have a serious discussion about it. According to the New Curriculum Framework (NCF) announced by the Ministry of Education in August, board examinations will be held at least twice a year to ensure that students have enough time and opportunity to perform well. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated 16 residential schools for needy children in Uttar Pradesh, built at a cost of about Rs 1,115 crore. These schools - Atal Awasiya Vidyalayas - have been opened to provide quality education to children of labourers and construction workers and those orphaned in the COVID-19 pandemic. Before dedicating these schools to the nation, Prime Minister Modi interacted with some students. The residential schools, built at a cost of about Rs 1,115 crore, intend to accommodate 1,000 students each. These will enhance access to quality education and help in holistic development of children.
