The woman has also stated in her complaint that one unknown person was also involved. A 21-year-old BSES employee died after being electrocuted in north Delhi's Kotwali area, police said Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Faheem, a resident of Matia Mahal, they said. Faheem was severely injured in the incident which took place on Monday. He succumbed on Tuesday, police said. He had gone to a house to attend to a complaint where he came in contact with a live wire, a senior police officer said. A case has been registered in the matter, he said. A central forces personnel was arrested Tuesday for allegedly harassing minor girls in Reasi district here by creating fake Facebook accounts and posting obscene content and messages, officials said. Based on the minor girl's father's complaint, Havaldar Ghar Singh, the accused, was arrested from Reasi, they said. As per the complaint, which was filed on May 8, unknown persons created fake Facebook accounts of his minor daughter, which were being used to publicly post morphed, nude pictures of the minor girl, his wife and some other members of the family. Three people have been held by the crime branch for allegedly seeking ransom from a television producer in Mumbai.The accused have been identified as Rohan Redkar (27), Shashank Verma (33), and Bhupesh Kumar Prasad (36), residents of Malad area in the city.According to the police, an unidentified person called the said producer and demanded Rs 25 lakh which he declined. The European Court of Human Rights has rejected a suit brought by Catalan separatist lawmakers claiming that Spain's top court violated their rights when it ruled to suspend a regional parliamentary session to declare independence in 2017. The court in Strasbourg said Tuesday that the decision by Spain's Constitutional Court to suspend the Catalan parliament's session on Oct. 2017 "was aimed at protecting the Constitutional order" and taken "in the interests of public safety (and) for the prevention of disorder." Catalan lawmakers held the session regardless. Their declaration of independence received no international recognition. If the 12 separatists currently on trial for rebellion at Spain's Supreme Court are found guilty, it is expected that they will attempt to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
A day after ADG CID Rajeev Kumar failed to appear for questioning in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam, the CBI Tuesday sent some "documents" to his office, sources said. CBI officials submitted the documents at Kumar's Bhawani Bhawan office in the southern part of Kolkata, they said without elaborating. "This is not a summon but some necessary documents in connection with an investigation," a source said, dismissing reports that fresh summons were issued to the officer. Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Tuesday arrested a woman passenger and seized 11.1 kg gold worth over Rs 3 crore and foreign currency over Rs 4 lakh at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.The DRI also recovered Rs 1.5 crore worth of foreign currency from a five-star hotel the woman was staying in.Based on specific intelligence, officers of DRI Hyderabad intercepted the accused woman coming from Dubai in the early morning of May 28 at the airport.The smuggled gold was concealed in seven specially made cloth pockets and socks along with Singapore dollars and UAE dirhams equivalent in Rs 4, 25,312.On a follow-up, the officers searched the room of the hotel where the lady was staying for the past three months and remaining money.The smuggled gold and the foreign currencies have been seized under the Customs Act 1962.

A 22-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide after jumping from a building in southwest Delhi's RK Puram area, police said Tuesday. Based on the deceased's father's statement on reported dowry harassment, the woman's husband has been arrested, they added. Police received information on Monday from the trauma centre in AIIMS regarding admission of one Shalu, a resident of Mohammadpur village here, who was grievously injured after falling from a building, a senior police officer said. The woman succumbed to injuries during treatment. Post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family, police said. Two men were arrested and a juvenile was apprehended for allegedly robbing two persons in Central Delhi's Minto Road area, police said Tuesday. The arrested persons have been identified as Rohan and Shivkumar, they said. The incident took place Monday night when Manoj, a native of Rampur in Uttar Pradesh, was going towards the railway station along with his friend Sundar, according to a senior police officer. When they reached Minto Road around 11.30 pm, four person came in a car and started beating them.Though Sundar fled from the spot with a bag, the accused persons took away Rs 23,000 from Manoj, the officer said. While the accused persons were leaving, Manoj saw the car's number and informed the police. Police said an officer identified the car and started looking for it, and it was recovered from Minto Road. Arnab Ghosh, the then Deputy Commissioner (detective department) of Bidhannagar Commissionerate, and senior police official Dilip Hazra have been summoned for questioning at CBI's Kolkata office, they said. Both the officers were part of the West Bengal Police Special Investigation team which probed the Saradha ponzi scam, officials said. The agency had summoned former Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar for questioning on Monday, but he did not appear before the agency. He told the CBI that he was on leave.
