Delhi police arrests 3 persons, apprehends minor for robbery
Delhi police on Tuesday arrested three persons and apprehended a juvenile for robbing two persons last night.Police said the accused used a stolen car to rob the victims who were going to New Delhi railway station late night on Monday.According to the police, the car was stolen from Mandir Marg area in 2010.
Russian national arrested for assaulting linesman in Goa
Police Tuesday arrested a Russian national for allegedly assaulting a linesman working with the state electricity department in Goa. The accused, Aleksei Zainulin, pushed Pradeep Gawandi, working as a linesman with the electricity department, while he was discharging his duty at Keri village in Pernem taluka near here Monday, the police said. The victim registered a police complaint following which Zainulin was arrested, they said. The complainant said the accused, without any provocation, assaulted him following which he fell on the ground and suffered grievous injuries, the police added.

Criminal wanted for killing Hindu outfit leader arrested
Police Tuesday arrested a wanted criminal who had allegedly shot dead a Hindu outfit leader in October 2017, officials said. Shubham Singh was arrested from Batala after a brief exchange of fire with police officials, they said. The accused had allegedly shot dead Hindu Sangharsh Sena leader Vipin Sharma nearly two years ago in broad daylight in Amritsar, the officials said. His aide Manpreet Singh, a resident of Walipur village in Tarn Taran district, was also arrested, they said, adding that police seized one bullet-proof jacket, an xen rifle, a .357 magnum revolver, three pistols of 32 bore, a beretta pistol and 200 live bullets from the duo's possession. The Delhi police has arrested two persons for allegedly killing a man in northeast Delhi, officials said Tuesday. The accused, identified as Rihan (32) and his nephew Danish (24), are residents of J-block in New Seelampur, they said. "Police on April 13 received information regarding an injured person Nafees. He was declared brought dead at GTB Hospital," Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Atul Kumar Thakur said. During investigation, police received information regarding the alleged killers of Nafees, accordingly a trap was laid near Dharmpura Red Light and the accused persons were arrested, the DCP said. During interrogation, the police learnt that Rihan had allegedly killed his sister's lover in 2009 and shot dead his brother's father-in-law over a petty issue. MP HC allows 19-year-old gang-rape victim to terminate 'unwanted pregnancy'
The Madhya Pradesh High Court's bench here Tuesday granted permission to a gang-rape victim to abort her nine-week-old foetus. Justice Virender Singh, presiding over the vacation bench, allowed the 19-year-old woman's writ petition, seeking permission to terminate her "unwanted pregnancy". "The petitioner is permitted to approach District Hospital, Dewas within a period of one week for termination of pregnancy," Justice Singh said. "Let the DNA sample of foetus be preserved (for use in trial of the case), he said. "In the present case, the pregnancy is nine weeks old," the bench observed and maintained that a medical board constituted by it has opined that it can be terminated. Three children, who went missing, were rescued from Delhi's Kakardooma and Dilshad Colony areas by PCR personnel and reunited with their families, police officials said Tuesday. Siblings Gaurav (5) and Aadi (4) were found wandering near the Kakardooma Metro Station on Monday and the third child, a three-year-old girl, was found at a street in Dilshad Colony. Gaurav and Aadi were spotted by two policemen near the metro station around 7 pm on Monday and the children told them that they had lost their way back home, a senior officer said, adding that the minors were apparently distraught and confused. They were immediately taken to the Anand Vihar police station, police said. But, when the policemen were passing through the Saini Enclave market area, they saw some people gathered there, the officer said. Saradha chit fund scam: CBI denies issuing second summon to Rajeev Kumar
CBI on Tuesday denied issuing a second summon to former Kolkata police chief Rajeev Kumar after he failed to appear at the agency's office on Monday in connection with the ongoing investigation into Saradha chit fund scam."No second notice has been issued to former Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar," the probe agency said in a statement.Kumar, who had failed to appear before the CBI on Monday, had written a letter to the probe agency saying he is on leave. The agency will take the next course of action accordingly, CBI sources had said.Kumar, who is accused of tampering with evidence in the multi-crore Saradha scam, was summoned on May 26 by the probe agency to appear before it at 10 am the next day.A Look-Out Notice was issued against Kumar by the agency even as CBI officials claimed that they were unaware of his whereabouts. A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly abducting the father of a woman he wanted to marry after her family rejected his proposal, police said Tuesday. The accused, identified as Sanjeev, was arrested on Monday. A resident of Meerut, he was working as a delivery boy with an online shopping company and had met the woman a few years ago through a common friend, they said. Sanjeev had been harassing her family to agree to their marriage for a while. The woman's family had even shifted to their native place to avoid him, they said. The woman's family had rejected Sanjeev's proposal so, he, along with three of his friends, hatched a plan to abduct her father, the police said. In the wee hours of Sunday, the four accused went to the shop where the woman's father worked as a munshi and abducted him, they said. NHRC notice to Hry DGP over women being 'beaten' by Faridabad police personnel
The NHRC Tuesday sent a notice to DGP of Haryana over reports of a video of a woman allegedly being beaten by some Faridabad police personnel going viral on social media. The matter was also brought to notice of the Haryana Police on Monday by the State Women Commission which took strong view of the incident. "The National Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognisance of media reports about a policeman brutally beating a woman with a belt in Adarsh Nagar police station area, district Faridabad, Haryana in October 2018," the NHRC said in a statement. The commission said it has issued a notice to the director general of police of Haryana, seeking a detailed report, including status of the criminal case registered against the guilty public servants, adding that the response is expected within six weeks positively. Heroin worth Rs 10.5 lakh seized, three persons arrested
The Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department personnel seized 282 gm of heroin from two places here, an official said Tuesday. The spokesman said three persons were arrested by personnel of the anti-narcotics squad on Monday night for allegedly trafficking of the contraband worth Rs 10.5 lakh in the local market, from Myanmar. A person from neighbouring Manipur was also arrested by the officials at the same time for possession of 2.163 kg of Ganja (cannabis), he said. The accused persons were produced before a local court in Aizawl which remanded them to 14 days judicial custody.
Members of 'Bawariya gang' involved in snatching, burglary cases arrested
Three men suspected to be members of 'Bawariya gang' were arrested in connection with cases of snatching, theft and burglary across the city, police said Tuesday. With their arrest, police claimed to have solved 11 cases of snatching, theft and burglary committed across Delhi, they said. The accused, identified as Radhey Shyam (30), Babu Lal (26) and Pappu (26), all residents of Rajasthan, are members of 'Bawariya gang'. Grocery shop-owner killed by miscreants
A grocery shop-owner was killed by unidentified miscreants in Bihar's Begusarai district on Tuesday, police said. The shop-owner identified as Prithivi Choudhary (60) was kidnapped my armed miscreants from his shop located at Veerpur bazar this afternoon, Sadar Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajan Singh said. The body of Choudhary was found from a field near Baba Asthan, the DSP said. 3-year-old girl raped by middle-aged man in Punjab
A three-year-old girl was Tuesday allegedly raped by a 55-year-old man, who lured the minor out of her house when her father was asleep, in a village in Sultanpur Lodhi here, police said. The minor victim, daughter of a migrant labourer from Bihar, was lured out of her room by accused Ganesh on some pretext in the morning, SHO Vikramjeet Singh said. The accused took the girl to his place in the neighbourhood and allegedly raped her, Singh said. Locals alerted by the cries of the minor rushed to her rescue and caught the accused, he said. Ganesh, who hails from Tamil Nadu, has been booked under relevant provisions of the law, including the POCSO Act, Singh said. The incident comes close on the heels of the rape of a four-year-old girl in Dhuri town of Punjab's Sangrur district last week.

Leopard kills 10-year-old girl
A 10-year-old girl was mauled to death by a leopard in Uttarkhand's Pauri Garhwal district. The incident occurred when the deceased, Mitali, was out in a field along with two women of her village in Pabau area on Monday evening, hospital sources said on Tuesday. The two women raised an alarm and by the time they succeeded in chasing the leopard away, the girl was dead, the sources added.
