Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) on Friday reported a 25 per cent growth in net profit to Rs 625 crore during the September quarter. The state-owned lender had posted a net profit of Rs 501 crore in the year-ago period. IOB's gross NPA ratio improved to 4.74 per cent in the second quarter of this fiscal, from 8.53 per cent in the same period of 2022-23 fiscal. Interest income stood at Rs 5,821 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2023. Total business improved to Rs 4.82 lakh crore. Shares of IOB were trading 4.74 per cent higher at Rs 40.22 apiece on the BSE.

Sundaram Home Finance has reported a 18 per cent increase in its net profit for the second quarter ending September 30, 2023 at Rs 59.33 crore, the company said on Thursday. The city-based wholly owned subsidiary of non-banking finance company Sundaram Finance had registered a net profit at Rs 50.30 crore during the corresponding quarter of last year. For the half-year ending September 30, 2023 the net profit of the company grew to Rs 116.75 crore, up by 20 per cent, from Rs 97.56 crore registered during the same period of last year. Disbursements made during the quarter under review grew to Rs 1,213.87 crore from Rs 940.56 crore recorded in the same period of last year. For the six month period ended September 30, 2023 the total disbursements rose to Rs 2,307.38 crore, from Rs 1,736.25 crore registered in the same period of last year. Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC, part of Aditya Birla Capital, on Thursday reported a seven per cent decline in net profit to Rs 178 crore in the September quarter. The asset management firm had posted a net profit of Rs 191.7 crore in the year-ago period, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC said in a statement. The company's revenue from operations rose eight per cent to Rs 335 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 311 crore a year ago. ABSL AMC's assets under management stood at Rs 3.1 lakh crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal, registering a growth of 10 per cent. Debt-ridden telecom operator Vodafone Idea on Thursday said its consolidated net loss widened to Rs 8,737.9 crore in the second quarter ended September 30. The company had posted a net loss of Rs 7,595.5 crore a year ago. Its consolidated revenue from operations was almost flat at Rs 10,716.3 crore during the reported quarter against Rs 10,655.5 crore in the September 2022 quarter.
