Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Saturday said the fight between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot is a fight for chair and the people of the state are suffering because of it. Referring to the tussle between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot, Raje said Gehlot accuses BJP of taking over other governments, but the truth is that the governments he formed in 2008 and 2018 were also formed by manipulation. The Gehlot government was in minority then and it is in minority now, she said. "The MLAs of his party are against him, his ministers keep talking about something or the other in protest every day," said the BJP leader while addressing the 'Booth Maha Sammelan' in Bharatpur in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Corruption is rampant and atrocities on Dalits and women are high in the state, and so is unemployment, Raje said. Pilot recently held a daylong fast demanding action from the Gehlot government in the alleged ..
Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address booth workers of Rajasthan's Bharatpur division where the party had faced a crushing defeat in the 2018 assembly elections. BJP booth workers and presidents of all four districts under the Bharatpur division -- Bharatpur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur and Dholpur -- are expected to attend the meeting to be held at Bharatpur college ground. More than 25,000 workers of 4,700 booths of the division will be a part of the programme, party sources said. The division, in eastern Rajasthan, has a total of 19 assembly constituencies and the saffron party could only win one seat in Dholpur in the last assembly polls. Sixteen seats were won by the Congress, one by the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and one by an independent candidate. Both the RLD and the independent MLA support the Congress government led by Ashok Gehlot in the state. In the 2013 assembly elections, when the Vasundhara Raje government came to power, the Bharatiya Janata P
Amid the ongoing political tussle in Rajasthan, former chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Thursday said one should stand like a rock in difficult circumstances. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader made the remark at a religious gathering. Without naming anyone or referring to any context, Raje said one should have faith in God, then no one can harm you. "Stand like a rock in difficult circumstances. Have faith in God and the ability to fight in yourself, then no one can harm you," she added. Through a story of two devotees, Raje also concluded that no matter how much one hatches conspiracy, the true one emerges victorious. She later tweeted, "We are not concerned about them, they are concerned about us," saying that 'Sudarshan Chakradhari' is her protector. Raje's statements assume significance amid the ongoing political situation in Congress-ruled Rajasthan where the party leader Sachin Pilot has opened a front against Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot while accusing him of not tak

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot termed "unfortunate" Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remark that railways had become an arena of politics under previous governments, saying his comments on Wednesday were made with an eye on the coming assembly and general elections. Gehlot said it was not fair to say the development of the national transporter happened only after 2014. "Today, your speech was given completely keeping in view the 2023-24 assembly and Lok Sabha elections and it was in the form of the election agenda of the Bharatiya Janata Party. I believe that such comments will not be acceptable to the people of the state and the country," the Rajasthan chief minister said. The Centre has relaxed quality norms for wheat procurement in Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, and Rajasthan to prevent distressed sale as well as protect the interest of farmers, a senior official said on Tuesday. The recent untimely rainfall, hailstorm and high velocity wind have damaged the standing wheat crop, which was ready for harvest, in some parts of these states. These state governments had demanded the relaxation in procurement norms. Currently, wheat procurement is underway in Madhya Pradesh, while it has been delayed in other states because of untimely rains. Congress has issued a stern warning to Pilot and said that the fast would amount to 'anti-party' activity
With Sachin Pilot firm on holding a fast to press his party-led government in Rajasthan for action against graft, the Congress Monday night issued a stern warning to him and said any such action on his part would amount to anti-party activity. Sources close to Pilot said he would go ahead with his daylong fast on Tuesday to press for action against corruption during the previous BJP government in Rajasthan. Taking strong objection to the proposed dharna by Pilot, All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge of the state Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said any such protest against its government clearly amounts to anti-party activity and goes against the party's interest. Pilot on Sunday alleged that the Ashok Gehlot-led government failed to investigate cases of alleged corruption during the BJP rule in Rajasthan and announced his plan to hold a day-long fast on April 11 to press for action.
