Filter Capital closes maiden fund at Rs 800 crore, aims to bolster growth

Technology-focused venture capital firm Filter Capital on Monday said its has secured Rs 800 crore funding for its maiden fund -- Filter Capital India Fund I. Indian institutional investors and family offices such as HDFC Fund of Funds, SIDBI, SRI Fund, Oister Global, DSP family office, Akash Prakash, the founder of Amansa Capital, and Harsh Jain, the CEO of Dream11 have committed to the fund, the VC firm said in a statement. "Filter Capital announced the successful final close of its first fund - Filter Capital India Fund I. The fund has secured a total corpus of Rs 800 crore," the statement said. Cilio expects to double global business in 18 months with India foray

US-based SaaS firm Cilio Technologies expects to double its global business in the next 12-18 months with its foray into India which will also serve as its hub for operations in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, a top official of the company said. Cilio President and CEO Rick Olejnik told PTI that to cater to the growth the company will also double its engineering team in India. "If we are able to make the right footprints in India in the next six months, I think it's going to contribute almost more than double what Cilio is doing right now in the next 12 to 18 months. India could see a substantial growth of USD 359-438 billion in GDP through adoption of GenAI and the country's Global Capability Centres (GCC) market would exceed USD 100 billion by 2030, Deloitte India said in a report. The Technology Trends 2024 report: India perspective said GCCs are taking the lead in 2024, showcasing India's growing prowess in catering to international technology needs. "With over 1,600 GCCs, India's GCC market is growing and creating its dominance globally. It is estimated that by 2030, the Indian GCC market would exceed USD 100 billion, with 2,500 GCCs across the country employing over 4.5 million people," it said.
