A multi-layer security cover is in place in Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple, with 10,000 CCTV cameras and drones equipped with artificial intelligence keeping an eye on the movement of people and police personnel in plain clothes deployed at the venue. A court here on Saturday acquitted Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai in a 27-year-old case of holding a protest in violation of prohibitory orders. Rai's lawyer Anuj Yadav said, "The MP-MLA Court of Judge Ujjawal Upadhyay acquitted Rai after the prosecution failed to prove the allegations." With just two days to go for the consecration ceremony, the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya has been decorated with "rich stocks" of flowers and special lights for the mega event, officials said on Saturday. The entire temple town is in the grip of religious fervour or as the locals say, "Ayodhya Rammay ho rahi hai". Sources in the temple trust said "rich stocks" of flowers have been used for the decoration and special floral designs have been made to deck up the temple for the big day. "These are all natural flowers and due to winter can last longer. So they will remain fresh on the day of the consecration ceremony. The fragrance and the aesthetic appeal of these vibrant flowers have lent another layer of divinity to the temple," a source told PTI. The Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal on Friday announced their alliance for the Lok Sabha polls, with the RLD saying that the other party will leave seven seats in western Uttar Pradesh for its nominees. SP president Akhilesh Yadav and RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary announced the tie-up for the elections later this year on social media. "Congratulations to everyone on the alliance of RLD and SP. Traditional wedding bands in Delhi are gearing up for a busy day on January 22 with hundreds of celebratory events planned at temples across the city to celebrate the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. According to industry experts, more than 1,500 such events will take place in markets and temples, and the wedding bands have been booked to perform devotional songs and bhajans during these programmes to enhance the devotional and festive fervour. The celebrations have coincided with the beginning of the wedding season in Delhi, which means the bands receiving multiple booking requests, much more than they handle in a regular season.
