Sensex down 152pts; breadth -ve

The NSE Nifty is down 31 points at 5,019.

ICICI Bank has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 848.

HDFC Bank, Hindalco and SBI have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs 1,448, Rs 188 and Rs 1,689, respectively.

BHEL has slipped 2.3% to Rs 1,829. Tata Steel, Satyam, HDFC and Larsen & Toubro have shed around 1.5% each to Rs 768, Rs 429, Rs 2,539 and Rs 2,880, respectively.

Ranbaxy has declined 1.3% to Rs 481. Reliance Communications, Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance are down 1% each at Rs 547, Rs 243 and Rs 2,583, respecively.

Wipro and ACC have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 437 and Rs 830, respectively.

 

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,485 stocks traded so far, 1,340 have declined, 1,087 have advanced and 58 are unchanged.
