Sensex up 127pts; Rel Energy advances 3%

The NSE Nifty is up 23 points at 5,251.

Reliance Energy has surged 3% to Rs 1,568.

Larsen & Toubro and Jaiprakash Associates has rallied 2.8% each to Rs 3,230 and Rs 295, respectively.

ICICI Bank has advanced 2% to Rs 954. Tata Steel has gained 1.8% at Rs 812.

ACC and Maruti have moved up 1.5% each to Rs 765 and Rs 799, respectively. Grasim has added 1.3% to Rs 2,400.

HDFC, ITC and HDFC Bank are up 1% each at Rs 2,802, Rs 223 and Rs 1,554, respectively.

Hindalco has slipped 1.4% to Rs 183, and Mahindra & Mahindra is down 1% at Rs 683.

 

Out of 2,559 stocks traded, 2,105 have advanced, 420 have declined and 34 are unchanged.
