Nagaland on Monday registered 71 new Covid-19 cases, 37 more than the previous day's count, taking the tally to 34,927, a health department official said. The death toll increased to 742 as three more people succumbed to coronavirus. In the last 24 hours, at least 73 patients recovered from the disease taking the total number of cured people to 32,041. Nagaland now has 691 active cases while 1,449 Covid-19 patients have migrated to other states, the official said. So far, 4,47,445 samples were tested for Covid-19 in the North-eastern state. The recovery rate among coronavirus patients is 91.73 per cent, the official said.
Goa reported 221 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths linked to the infection on Monday, the health department said, while the daily positivity rate dropped sharply to 7.77 per cent. With these additions, Goa's caseload rose to 2,42,659, while the death toll increased to 3,748, the health department said in a bulletin. The daily positivity rate was 7.77 per cent, down from 14.02 per cent on Sunday when 282 cases were detected from 2,010 tests. The number of recovered cases in the state rose to 2,34,534 after 500 patients were discharged during the day, the department said. Goa now has 4,377 active cases. "With 2,843 new coronavirus tests, the number of tests conducted in the state so far has gone up to 18,36,515, an official added. Tripura's total Covid-19 cases increased to 1,00,663 after 13 more people tested positive for the virus on Monday, a senior health department official said. The North-eastern state had reported the same number of fresh infections and no Covid deaths on Sunday. It, however, registered two fresh fatalities on Monday, taking the death toll to 915. The state's positivity rate has dipped to 0.91 per cent on Monday from 1.29 per cent the previous day, said Dr Deep Debbarma, the state surveillance officer. Altogether 1,421 samples were tested for coronavirus during the day. Tripura currently has 748 active cases, while 98,932 Covid patients have recovered so far. A total of 68 patients have migrated to other states.

Daily COVID-19 infections in Karnataka declined to 6,151 on Monday, taking the total positive cases to 39,02,309, according to the health department. The cumulative fatalities stood at 39,396 as the state reported 49 deaths, the health department said. The data shared by the department showed that 99,254 tests were conducted today, whereas the state had been conducting over one lakh tests ever since the outbreak of the third wave of COVID-19. The state had reported 8,425 fresh infections on Sunday. On Sunday also the state had tested 1,29,337 samples including 99,023 RT-PCR tests. In its daily bulletin, the department said 16,802 people were discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 37,75,799. Active cases stood at 87,080. Mumbai on Monday recorded 356 new COVID-19 cases- the lowest daily rise after December 21, 2021- and five fatalities, the city civic body said. The tally of infections now stands at 10,50,194 and the COVID-19 death toll at 16,654, as per a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) bulletin. On December 21 last year, when the third wave of the pandemic began according to a senior official, Mumbai had reported 321 cases and one fatality due to the infection. The cases registered on Monday in Mumbai are 180 less than the previous day. The case positivity rate of Mumbai has come down to 1.19 per cent.

A total of 403 new cases were recorded in Jaipur, 239 in Jodhpur, 131 in Jhunjhunu, 123 in Alwar, 114 in Rajsamand, 105 in Bhilwara, 104 in Pali. Thirty-three more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Sikkim, taking the tally in the state to 5,439, an official said on Friday. The death toll rose to 123 after a 60-year-old woman died due to coronavirus infection, state IEC member Sonam Bhutia said, adding that she had co-morbidities. Of the fresh cases, 21 were reported from South Sikkim and 12 from East Sikkim. The Himalayan state has 304 active cases, while 4,918 people have recovered from the disease. Ninety-four coronavirus patients have migrated to other states. Sikkim tested 301 samples in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of such clinical examinations to 65,431, the official added.
