Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday will pay homage to the 13 IAF personnel who were killed in An-32 crash in Arunachal Pradesh.The IAF on Thursday said that bodies of all 13 IAF personnel were recovered and have been sent to Jorhat IAF station.The AN-32 aircraft went missing on June 3 after taking off from Assam's Jorhat. The aircraft was headed for Mechuka Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) in Arunachal Pradesh when it lost contact with ground authorities at around 1 pm.After a massive search and rescue operation for eight days, during which assets from several agencies were deployed, the wreckage of the aircraft was located by a Mi-17 chopper.The wreckage was located 16 km north of Lipo in Arunachal Pradesh at an elevation of 12,000 feet.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has recovered the mortal remains of the 13 of its personnel killed in AN-32 plane crash."The mortal remains of 13 brave air-warriors have been recovered and sent to the Air Force Station, Jorhat," IAF spokesperson Wg Cdr Ratnakar Singh said."The mortal remains will be sent to their hometown, where funeral as per service customs will be carried out," added Wg Cdr Singh.On June 3, an IAF An-32 aircraft, which took off from the Air Force Station, Jorhat in Assam, went missing with 13 air-warriors onboard.The wreckage was found on June 11 on a mountain slope in Arunachal Pradesh and all air-warriors died in the crash."The Indian Air Force stands with the families and next-of-kin of all the air-warriors who lost their lives in the line of duty," the IAF said.The force also thanked Indian Army, Indian Navy, NTRO, State administration and civil population for their unstinted support during search and rescue operations.

At least 32 people were killed and 28 others severely injured when an overloaded bus fell into a deep drain in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday, officials said. The private bus (bearing registration number HP 66-7065) fell into the over 300-metre-deep nullah near the Dhoth Morh in Banjar tehsil of the district, Kullu Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri said, adding that the vehicle was en route to Gada Gushaini. The IAF Thursday completed the task of retrieving bodies of all its 13 personnel from the crash site of its AN-32 aircraft in the Pari mountains in Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh and flew them to Jorhat airport in Assam. While six bodies were retrieved Wednesday from the crash site, the remains of seven others were recovered Thursday. All 13 personnel aboard the Russian-made AN-32 had perished in the crash on June 3 about 30 minutes after the aircraft took off from Jorhat in Assam for Menchuka in Arunachal Pradesh. A 35-year-old man was killed Thursday and six others, including a child, injured when a house collapsed in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. The incident took place at village Devlian in Kalakote area, police said, adding that the seven family members were trapped under the debris. The locals launched a rescue operation along with the police personnel. Gafoor Hussain was found dead, while six others who sustained injuries were rescued and shifted to a hospital, the officer said.
A fire broke out at a 10-storeyed residential building in northwest Delhi's Pitampura, a Delhi Fire Service official said Thursday. About 100 residents were safely rescued and no one was injured in the incident that took place late Wednesday night, he said. A few residents complained of mild suffocation after inhaling fumes, but did not require medical attention, Chief Fire Officer Atul Garg said. The Kerala government Thursday expressed willingness to provide 20 lakh litres drinking water to Tamil Nadu, which is facing a water crisis, but the latter has declined it, saying there was "no need for the help at present." For the last ten months, Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) has been facing an acute water crisis, which has left the hospital with no choice but to ration water."The water required in the hospital on a daily basis is four lakh litres, which after rationing, has come down to 2.50 lakh litres. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Ministry of Railways, held the second Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting for capacity development on railway safety on Thursday, according to a statement from the agency. The Technical Cooperation (TC) project that commenced in December 2018, would be implemented during the next one and half years. Bodies of three children were recovered during search operations after seven of them went missing when a pick-up van plunged into a canal near here Thursday, officials said. The vehicle carried 29 people, who were returning after a wedding function in neighbouring Barabanki district, and of them 22 were rescued. Seven children went missing and bodies of three were fished out by divers of the NDRF and SDRF, officials said. The van fell into the Indira canal in Nagram area on the city outskirts at around 3 AM, Lucknow District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said. "Three bodies have been found and hunt is on to trace the remaining four children," Sharma told PTI. He said the bodies are yet to be identified. "As many as seven children, all in the age-group of 5 -10 years, are missing.
