India on Monday extended a financial aid of 1.6 billion Nepalese rupees to Nepal to help 50,000 people in Nuwakot and Gorkha districts rebuild their houses damaged in the devastating earthquake in 2015. A panther was killed in a road accident in Pindwara forest range near Bamanwada area of the district in on Monday.The two-year-old female panther met with the accident while crossing the National Highway-2, an official of the Forest Department said."We got the information about the accident at around 5:30 am in the morning. We reached the spot and found the panther was bleeding," said Pindwara forest ranger Laxmanraj Sudesha."We inspected the body and figured that she died in an accident while crossing the road," added Sudesha.The body of the big cat was first spotted by a team of Larsen & Toubro, which was patrolling the national highway, he said.The panther's body was sent for the post-mortem examination.On Saturday, a tiger died after he was tranquilised to be treated for a lesion in Sariska tiger reserve in Alwar district of the state.

A coal-laden goods train caught fire at Sabira railway station in Odisha's Balasore district on Monday, railway officials said. No one was hurt in the incident, they said. Fire broke out in one of the wagons in the tail end of the goods train. The goods train with 58 wagons loaded with coal was on its way from Odisha's Talcher to Haldia in West Bengal. A minor fire broke out inside a room on the ground floor of Shastri Bhavan on Monday, the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) said. No casualty was reported, they said. Ten persons were killed and 23 others injured when a Patna-bound bus hit a trailer truck on a national highway in Hazaribagh district on Monday, a senior government official said here. The accident took place near Danua-Bhanua area on NH 2 when the bus hit the rear of the trailer truck, he said. "Eight persons died on the spot and two others succumbed to injuries at Chouparan hospital," Deputy Commissioner of Hazaribagh, Ravi Shankar Shukla, said. Seven men and one child were among those who died on the spot, he said. The injured have been referred to Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital. The bus was going to Masauree in Patna district from Ranchi, he said.
American Airlines on Sunday extended cancellations of flights of Boeing 737 Max jets until September 3 in the wake of software update on the planes which were grounded in March after two deadly crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia.Quoting an airline statement, The Washington Post reported that the cancellations will affect approximately 115 flights per day.The move also suggested that the re-entry of 737 Max jets will take a longer time than was earlier expected. At least eight people died after an ambulance they were travelling in rammed into a lorry in Palakkad city of Kerala.The incident took place on Sunday. A construction crane buffeted by high winds during a storm collapsed on a Dallas apartment building, killing one woman in the building and injuring at least six more people, two of them critically, a fire official said. Over half of 751 people diagnosed with HIV in Pakistan's Sindh province still await medical assistance, according to a report by the World Health Organisation (WHO).As per the WHO report, out of the 751 people, 604 are children who are infected with HIV, as the country continues to grapple with the HIV outbreak.An international team of experts from WHO had arrived in Pakistan in May-end to probe the outbreak in Ratodero town in Larkana district. The team is also supporting the local authorities who are dealing with the outbreak, Express Tribune reported.According to the WHO report, 324 people or 47 per cent have been provided medical assistance so far, while 427 others or 53 per cent remain without treatment.The provision of essential medicines is a huge challenge for Pakistani authorities as they have stocks to treat 240 of the 604 affected children.
