A woman trekker from Uttar Pradesh died after being hit by falling stones, during a trekking expedition in Kullu district of the state.The incident occurred while the woman, identified as Anisha Kapoor, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district, was on a trek from Kheer Ganga to Barshaini.Due to heavy thunderstorm and bad weather conditions, pieces of stone fell on her near Barshaini and she was declared dead by Community Health Centre, said Kullu police.Two trekkers accompanying Kapoor were also injured in the incident and were admitted to hospital, where they are said to be stable now.

A fire ripped through a four-storey building at a local market in a village here Saturday night, officials said. No loss of life was reported in the incident, a police official said. Entry to a station on the busy Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro was Saturday briefly closed after a car caught fire outside its premises, officials said. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) tweeted about the incident around 8.20 pm. "Entry to Model Town metro station will be closed temporarily due to smoke from a car which has caught fire outside. We regret the inconvenience," the DMRC tweeted. According to a senior official, the car went up in flames in front of the metro station's building. However, it could not be immediately confirmed if the car was moving or stationary. "Entry to Model Town metro station was later opened," he said. Nearly 30 people residing in the city's Ganguly Bagan area have been diagnosed with jaundice in the last few weeks, a senior Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) official said on Saturday. Several residents of the locality in south Kolkata's Baghajatin area had to be hospitalised after they were tested positive for jaundice, the official said. To determine the cause of the "outbreak" of the disease, civic body officials have collected water samples from at least 52 different places of Ganguly Bagan and its vicinity, he said. "We are expecting the sample report by Monday," the official said. Meanwhile, residents of the area have been asked to be cautious about the quality of water they consume.

About 48 per cent of the electricity consumers in Puri district are yet to get back their power connection even though 28-days have passed after the extremely severe cyclone 'Fani' made a landfall near Puri town on May 3, officials said Saturday.
