Struggle to make films continues: Filmmaker Spike Lee
Filmmaker Spike Lee says he still finds it tough to make movies and that is the reason why he chose to partner with streaming giant Netflix for his next feature. The 62-year-old filmmaker, who recently won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for his film "BlacKkKlansman", is currently working on "Da 5 Bloods" for Netflix, starring "Black Panther" star Chadwick Boseman in the lead. "It's still a struggle to get stuff made especially we are not doing marvel comic book though and I have said before everybody else turned down this my new film which is set on Netflix so the struggle continues," Lee said in a statement. Jaume Collet-Serra in talks for Dwayne Johnson's 'Black Adam'
Filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra is in negotiations to direct the "Black Adam" film, starring Dwayne Johnson in the lead. The much-awaited film, which hails from New Line stable, is in the development stage for quite a while. However, after the success of "Shazam!", the studio is now moving ahead with the film, which will be based on the DC Comics character, reported Variety. Black Adam is considered the archnemesis of Shazam, dating all the way back to the 1940s when the hero was called Captain Marvel. In the comics, the character is often viewed as an anti-hero. New Line had previously planned to introduce Johnson as Black Adam in Zachary Levi-starrer "Shazam!", but then decided to give him a solo film. "The Good Place" is set to end with its fourth season on NBC, showrunner/producer Mike Schur has announced. Schur shared the news in a statement posted on Twitter. "After 'The Good Place' was picked up for season two, the writing staff and I began to map out, as best we could, the trajectory of the show. Given the ideas we wanted to explore, and the pace at which we wanted to present those ideas, I began to feel like four seasons just over 50 episodes was the right lifespan," Schur said in his post. "At times over the past few years we've been tempted to go beyond four seasons, but mostly because making this show is a rare, creatively fulfilling joy, and at the end of the day, we don't want to tread water just because the water is so warm and pleasant.
