Facebook has come under the scanner for allegedly allowing content related to dog fighting on its platform. Dog fighting is illegal in a number of nations around the world.Animal rights organisation, Lady Freethinker, conducted an investigation and found that dogfighters are promoting their trade on Facebook through posts that may include dogs mauling each other, chained up in factory-like training facilities, or displaying the scars of fighting.The organisation further found more than 2,000 posts promoting dogfighting or trafficking animals used for fighting, over 150 pages, groups and profiles actively promoting or engaged in the sale of animals for fighting, and more than 160,563 followers of the top five groups and pages.

BJP's former MP Hariom Singh Rathore died after prolonged illness in a hospital in Udaipur on Monday, a senior party official said. He was 61. Just want to serve cows, won't return honour: German Padma awardee

IAF chief leads 'missing man' formation in tribute to Kargil heroes

Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa Monday flew the 'missing man' formation in a MiG-21 aircraft to pay tributes to Squadran Leader Ajay Ahuja and other fallen heroes of the Kargil war. He was accompanied by Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) Western Air Command Air Marshal R Nambiar in the flypast organised at Air Force Station in Bhisiana here. The 'missing man' formation is an aerial salute accorded to honour the fallen comrades-in-arms. It is an arrow formation, with a gap between two aircraft in the formation depicting the missing man, the IAF said in a statement. Mentally-challenged man climbs up street light pole in Noida

A 26-year-old mentally-challenged man climbed up a street light pole here on Monday, ensuing a ruckus that continued for at least half an hour, officials said. The incident occurred on Shivalik Marg, near Noida City Centre, and it was reported to the police around 8.30 am, the officials said. "Soon a police team from Sector 24 station reached the spot along with officials from the Fire department to bring him down. It was only after some 30 minutes that the man could be convinced and brought down safely with the help of a crane from the Electricity Department," a police official said. The man, identified as Aniruddh from Bihar's Betiah district was later released, SHO Pradeep Tripathi said. "He is mentally challenged. IAF Chief to fly MiG-21 to honour Kargil martyrs tomorrow
