Over 50 million people of eligible population vaccinated in Rajasthan

Over 5 crore people of the eligible populations have been vaccinated until 4 pm on Monday, said a press release from the state health ministry.State Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma complimenting all medical and other personnel said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, after corona management, the State has set an example in vaccination too.He said, "All personnel of the health department did the work diligently and this is the reason more than 5 crore population could be vaccinated in a very short span of time."Dr Sharma said that till Monday evening, out of the targeted population of 5,14,95,402 - the first dose has been administered to 3.73 crore people and the second dose to 1.27 crore people thus a total of 5,00,78,073 people have been inoculated with the corona vaccine.The Health Minister said that although coronavirus infection has come down by administering one dose to half of the population, the danger of corona still persists.He said according to the ...

Final phase of Rajasthan panchayat polls to be held on Wednesday

The third and final phase of voting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections in six districts of Rajasthan will be held on Wednesday. Polling will be conducted for 507 members of 25 Panchayat Samitis and their respective Zila Parishad members in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa and Sirohi districts. Voting will start from 7.30 am and go on till 5.30 pm. State Election Commissioner PS Mehra said a total of 1,772 candidates have submitted their nomination, while seven candidates have been elected unopposed. In the third phase, 25.78 lakh voters will be able to exercise their franchise at 3,547 polling stations. In the third phase, more than 11,000 EVM machines will be used. He said the counting of votes will be done on September 4 at 9 am at all the district headquarters. Over 62 per cent voters exercised their franchise in the first phase and 65.88 per cent in the second phase of the election.

Rajasthan's Covid tally rose to 9,53,733 on Wednesday with 18 fresh cases, while the death toll stood at 8,954 as no new fatality was reported in the state, according to a health bulletin.
