2 NEET aspirants commit suicide in a day in Rajasthan's Kota, 22 this year

Within four hours, two NEET aspirants allegedly committed suicide in two separate incidents in Rajasthan's Kota on Sunday, taking the total toll to 22 this year, police said. Avishkar Shambaji Kasle (17), jumped from the sixth floor of his coaching institute's building in Jawahar Nagar at around 3.15 pm, minutes after walking out of a room on the third floor of the institute after taking a test, they added. The institute's staff rushed Kasle to a hospital but he succumbed on the way, Vigyan Nagar Circle Officer (CO) Dharmveer Singh said. Four hours after Kasle's death, 18-year-old Adarsh Raj, who was also preparing for the competitive exam, hanged himself in his rented flat in under Kunhadi police station area at around 7 pm, police said. Criminal cases registered against juveniles increased in 2022 in Rajasthan

Rajasthan saw a slight rise in the number of criminal cases registered against juveniles in 2022 as compared to the previous year, according to data released by the state's home department. As per the data, the number of different types of crimes committed by juveniles in Rajasthan in 2021 was 3,701, which increased to 4,257 the following year. These include crimes related to theft, extortion, rape, murder and matters under the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act and Arms Act. Among the recent incidents of such crimes that made the news in the state are the detention of a juvenile along with the arrest of two others for extorting Rs 30 lakh from a jeweller in Jhunjhunu district, three juveniles being detained for attacking a retired teacher with a knife and a disgruntled student killing a 54-year-old teacher for reprimanding and expelling him from school. Ensuring uninterrupted power supply priority for Rajasthan govt: CM Gehlot

Meeting the power demand of domestic and agriculture consumers is a priority for the Rajasthan government which is making all efforts to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said. Billionaire Anil Agarwal's Vedanta Ltd is seeking a minimum of USD 9.5 for the natural gas it produces from its Rajasthan block, according to a tender floated by the firm for the sale of the fuel. Vedanta sought bids from users for 0.6 million standard cubic meters per day of gas it plans to produce from the RJ-ON-90/1 block in the Barmer basin of Rajasthan in three months beginning October 1. Gas extracted from below ground is used to produce electricity, make fertilizer, turned into CNG to fire automobiles, or piped to household kitchens for cooking purposes. In the tender, Vedanta asked users to quote a variable 'P' that they are willing to pay over and above 14.5 per cent of Brent crude oil price.
