| 'Only premium ad fests will flourish' | 31-AUG-09 |
| Terry Savage, chairman, International Advertising Festival, Cannes Lions, is in India to promote the recently instituted Spikes Asia Awards that are to be held in Singapore. In this interview with Sapna Agarwal, he says that the global slowdown will accelerate the trend of agencies becoming selective about award festivals. |

| R for Rah Rah | 29-JUN-09 |
| At the end of five days of intense scrutiny and incessant discussions on every piece of film at the Cannes International Advertising Festival, the piece I am writing will appear well after the final award ceremony is over, which makes it possible for me to talk about the stellar performers. |

| Zoozoos fail to humour Cannes | 27-JUN-09 |
| Vodafone’s Zoozoos may have conquered many hearts in India, but they have sunk without a trace on the French Riviera. |

| India shines at Cannes: 23 metals and counting | 26-JUN-09 |
| It’s India’s day out at Cannes — the ad world’s biggest annual awards competition and trade show. In its best-ever performance, India Inc has already won 23 metals and the counting hasn’t ended yet, as the Films, Integrated & Titanium Lions are still to be announced. |

| The advertisement, as we know it, is getting passe | 26-JUN-09 |
| It’s hard to write about the South of France without sounding like a travel writer or a food critic. But since I am spending most of my days here in a darkened room, looking at visuals from several corners of the world, maybe I will be disoriented enough to concentrate on the job at hand. |

| Down on last year, but still worth experiencing | 25-JUN-09 |
| Freedom at last. Judging over and done with, the press conference survived, the award ceremony ducked — and I am on my last day here. The weather continues to be wonderful, the sea remains an impossible shade of blue, the air continues to nip and bite, and the Indian contingent is finally up to strength. As expected, we are down almost 50 percent —– 65 this year, in the place of 130-plus last year. A long and beery lunch to celebrate the metals trickling in saw the mood surprisingly muted – expected or not, our performance was, after last year’s high, somewhat underwhelming. |

| Golds, Silvers and Bronzes under the Cannes sun | 24-JUN-09 |
| Judging is finally over, thank God. Overall, a great experience, and one I wouldn’t have missed for the world, but I somehow doubt if I will ever volunteer again for any jury duty that promises to last more than two days. |

| India's show at Cannes is a little disappointing | 23-JUN-09 |
| One more day of judging, one more day at Cannes — though this one was as wonderfully nippy as the preceding ones were hot. A light shower in the evening finished off the perfect day, sending the impromptu party of Indian delegates that had gathered to down a few outside the Brasserie du Casino scurrying for cover. A long and not entirely sober walk thereafter saw us tottering into Maharaja, the very acceptable Pakistani substitute for an Indian restaurant here at Cannes. |

| From Happy Meal to Memories Board | 22-JUN-09 |
| It’s been two days we landed here in sunny Cannes. Mine was a particularly long flight, with a six-hour layover in Frankfurt, So by the time I landed at Nice, efficient event managers and waiting limos were a very welcome sight indeed. A quick shower and change back at the hotel, and I was ready for the opening event — the Jury dinner to welcome jurors from the Promo, Direct, Outdoor and Press Lions. |

| India's day out at Cannes | 21-JUN-09 |
| Have money, will spend. If that was the mantra of India Inc in better times, it’s a no-brainer that the opposite will be equally true when money is difficult to find. With the global recession wreaking havoc in every corner of the marketing business, expensive and glitzy award shows can’t be an exception. |

| Integrated marketing comes to the fore | 21-JUN-09 |
| Cannes is just incredibly beautiful and the weather is great – at least for foreigners. For Indians, it’s a bit hot, but that’s all right as nothing can beat the excitement of being at the world’s largest advertising show. |

| Indian entries, registrations to Cannes Lions see a drop | 19-JUN-09 |
| Cannes Lions may not roar this year. The mecca of the global advertising fraternity has seen a 20 per cent drop in entries this year on the back of a slowing economy. However, the drop in entries from across the Asia-Pacific region is lower, at 10 per cent. |
