Gen X, Millennials curious to leverage AI at work: LinkedIn survey

With companies adopting new technologies to enhance productivity, a majority of the Millennials and Gen X professionals are curious and eager to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) at work, according to a report. Over 75 per cent of Millennials and 74 per cent of Gen X professionals surveyed feel that AI will take boring tasks off their plate giving them the time to focus on tasks that excite them, said a report by LinkedIn India. Meanwhile, 70 per cent of Gen Z are also eager and curious to adapt to the world of AI, the report added. People born between 1965 and 1980 are referred as Gen X, while Millennials are those born between 1981 and 1996 and Gen Z includes those born between 1996 and 2010. 75% marketing leaders see generative AI essential to toolkit: Survey

Nearly three quarters of marketing and creative leaders in India view generative AI as an essential part of their creative toolkit, according to a survey. Survey insights from Canva reveal how marketers are embracing AI to elevate creativity and increase output in the workplace, with 7 out of 10 (70 per cent) agreeing that generative AI is enhancing their teams' creativity. About 72 per cent of the respondents said generative AI was saving at least 2-3 hours per week of their team. More than half of the respondents (56 per cent) have introduced firm guardrails around the use of generative AI in the workplace. Canva Global Head of Brand Marketing Natalie Schwartz said, "Our findings reinforce the fact that AI-powered tools are breathing new life into creativity and productivity for marketers, a profound impact we see first-hand as a visual communication platform. AI, digital solutions integration to bolster BFSI: Google McKinsey report

The integration of AI with digital solutions is set to enable India's BFSI sector to unlock access to its entire spectrum of products for over 700 million internet users in the country, according to a Google and McKinsey report. Around 87 per cent of financial services seekers commence their consumer journey online, the report said, adding that nearly two-thirds find online channels more helpful for making a purchase decision over traditional channels. Approximately 40 per cent use search and about 31 per cent use online videos to help them with their decisions. The report combines analysis of Google Search trends, revealing that online demand exceeded total purchases across all product categories by 3-5 times in 2022. IIT Mandi, France's INRIA develop AI for structural assessment of bridges

Researchers at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mandi and National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (INRIA) in France have developed advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and signal processing techniques to accurately predict structural health of bridges and other structures. These AI-based algorithms have broad applications, not limited to bridges alone, and can be extended to structures such as ropeways, buildings, aerospace structures, transmission towers, and various infrastructure elements requiring periodic health assessments and protection measures, the researchers claimed. According to officials, there are over 13,500 bridges across India. "These structures undergo natural ageing due to environmental factors like temperature fluctuations, and water and air exposure, compounded by heavy road traffic. Kerala-based startup launches AI-based learning platform for all ages

A city-based start-up, Hello AI, registered with the KSUM has launched an artificial intelligence (AI)-based self-learning platform that offers a comprehensive and personalised learning experience for people of all age groups. The platform, HelloAI-HAILabs.ai, aims to empower students with essential AI and data literacy skills, besides equipping them with the essentials of self-learning through adaptive learning, personalised tutoring using AI tutor, and context-aware content generation, the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) said in a statement. "This will empower children for an AI-driven future with personalised AI literacy and fostering critical thinking," it said. HAILabs.ai will provide free access to Level 1 through a freemium model, with premium options enhancing the learning journey, the statement said.
