Maharashtra sees 3,206 Covid-19 cases, 36 deaths, 3,292 recoveries

Maharashtra on Sunday reported 3,206 new coronavirus positive cases and 36 fatalities while 3,292 patients recovered, the health department said. The new additions pushed the tally of infections in Maharashtra to 65,44,325 and the death toll to 1,38,870. The total number of recoveries in Maharashtra stands at 63,64,027 which leaves the state with 37,860 active cases, as per the official statement. Maharashtra's case recovery rate now stands at 97.24 per cent and the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent. With 1,65,990 new tests, the number of samples examined for coronavirus so far in Maharashtra rose to 5,81,58,000. Mumbai city reported 477 new cases and five deaths, taking the tally of infections to 7,41,237 and the death toll to 16,084, the statement said. Mumbai division recorded 990 cases and seven fatalities which raised the number of cases to 16,73,025 and the toll to 35,232, it said. Nashik Covid update: Reports 100 fresh Covid-19 cases, 113 recoveries

Nashik district in Maharashtra on Sunday reported 100 fresh coronavirus positive cases, taking the tally to 4,08,078, while 113 patients recovered, health officials said. The death toll rose to 8,624 after one patient succumbed to the COVID-19 infection, they said. With 113 patients discharged on Sunday, the total count of recoveries in the Nashik district rose to 3,98,448. With 2,592 new tests, the number of samples examined for coronavirus so far in the district went up to 25,63,212, they added.

Delhi coronavirus update: Reports zero Covid deaths, 29 new cases

The national capital reported 29 coronavirus cases and zero death on Sunday, while the positivity rate stood at 0.05 percent, according to data shared by the city health department. The capital has recorded only three fatalities due to the infection in September so far. With the new cases, the overall infection tally in the city climbs to 14,38,714. Of this, over 14.13 lakh patients have recovered from the disease. The death toll stands at 25,085. Delhi reported 27 cases of infection on Saturday and 24 on Friday. There are 371 active cases in Delhi, of which 118 are in home-isolation.

Ladakh reports five fresh coronavirus cases, tally reaches 20,776

Five more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Ladakh, taking the overall infection tally in the union territory to 20,776, officials said on Saturday. Ladakh has registered 207 Covid-related deaths -- 149 in Leh and 58 in Kargil -- since the outbreak of the pandemic last year. As many as 20,405 patients have recovered till date. The officials said 5,253 people were tested for COVID-19 in the twin districts on Friday and five of them returned positive result. All the new cases were reported from Leh. Five COVID-19 patients were discharged in Leh in a 24-hour span, the officials said, adding the umber of active cases in Ladakh stands at 164 that included 161 in Leh and three in Kargil.
