Cannes: Sand Van Roy makes red carpet statement on violence against women
Dutch actor Sand Van Roy walked the Cannes red carpet with a protest statement- a large temporary tattoo on her back seeking an end to violence against women.The 29-year-old 'Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets' actress, sued French director Luc Besson for rape in 2018 stepped in front of cameras for an event honouring French actor Alain Delon on Sunday, the Deadline reported.The black tattoo on her back read "Stop Violence against Women" and was accompanied with the #MeToo symbol.The rape suit against Besson was eventually dropped by the prosecutors.This year the festival faced criticism for its decision to award Delon an honorary Palme d'Or after he previously talked about slapping women, opposing adoption for same-sex couples and showing support for politician Jean-Marie Le Pen.Cannes chief Thierry Fremaux recently defended the festival's decision to present Delon the award saying, "We are not going to give Alain Delon the Nobel Peace Prize. 'Sadak 2' to release in July 2020
"Sadak 2", featuring Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt, will hit the theatres next year on July 10. Fox Star Studios announced the new release date of the film on Monday. It was earlier supposed to open on March 25, 2020. "The roads will intersect once again. 'Sadak 2' in cinemas on 10th July, 2020," the studio posted on its official Twitter account. "Sadak 2", the film which is a sequel to 1991, will be directed by veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. Bhatt, who also directed the original film, is returning to the director's chair after almost two decades with the follow-up. It also marks his first collaboration with daughter Alia. "Sadak" revolved around a taxi driver (Sanjay) trying to rescue the woman he loves (Pooja) from a brothel. It also featured Sadashiv Amrapurkar as Maharani, brothel's owner and Soni Razdan, Bhatt's wife.

Actor Vivek Oberoi on Monday said India has changed a lot in the last five years and now a person will be known by his work rather than the family legacy. He was speaking at the launch of a poster of 'PM Narendra Modi', a biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he plays the lead role, by Union minister Nitin Gadkari here. The film is slated to release in 40 countries this Friday, he said.
