Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar to lock horns on Eid 2020

It's official! Akshay Kumar's 'Sooryavanshi' and Salman Khan's 'Inshallah' are all set for a box office clash as both the films are scheduled to release on Eid next year.Earlier on Thursday, film critic Taran Adarsh revealed that Salman and Alia Bhatt starrer 'Inshallah', directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, will hit the big screens next Eid.Rohit Shetty's 'Sooryavanshi' is scheduled to release on the same day.In March, Rohit shared the first look of the upcoming film, featuring Akshay as a cop in action, and revealed that the film is slated to release on Eid 2020.After the success of 'Simmba' and 'Singham', Rohit is expanding his cop universe with 'Sooryavanshi' where Akshay Kumar will be seen essaying the role of Veer Sooryavanshi.Meanwhile, Salman will be reuniting with Bhansali after 20 years. The two last worked together in the 1999 Blockbuster 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'.This does not include his cameo in Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor starrer 'Saawariya' back in 2007.

Salman Khan-Alia Bhatt starrer 'Inshallah' to release next Eid

"Inshallah", which reunites director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan after a long gap, will hit the screens on Eid, 2020. The actor and the director have worked on films such as "Khamoshi", "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" and "Saawariya". A love story, it will be Alia Bhatt's first film with the ace director. Eid has traditionally been a lucky release date for Salman Khan, whose latest film "Bharat" has minted Rs 42 crore at the box office in just one day. "Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt come together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Inshallah'. We at Bhansali Productions are happy to confirm that the film hits theatres on the Eid of 2020," Prerna Singh, CEO of BPPL said in a statement.

'Bharat' earns Rs 42 crore on opening day, Salman thanks fans

Salman Khan's Eid release "Bharat" has collected Rs 42 crore on day one at the box office. The actor, who is often called critics-proof thanks to his massive fan following, said it was the "biggest opening" of his career and thanked his fans. "What made me the happiest and proudest is that during a scene in my film when the national anthem is recited everyone stood up as a mark of respect. There could be no bigger respect for our country than this," he tweeted. As the name suggest, "Bharat" is the story of a man who journey mirrors that of the country. "Bharat' storms the box office. JLF to debut in northern Ireland capital Belfast

It is good news for book worms in the northern Ireland capital of Belfast, as the celebrated Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) is all set to make its debut in the city on June 21. Hosted by Teamwork Arts, producer of the festival in India, and supported by the British Council Northern Ireland and the Arts Council, the first-ever JLF Belfast will run from June 21 - 23 at select venues in the city, organisers recently said in a statement. The "grand feast of ideas" during the festival will try and explore themes that bind India and Northern Ireland such as border and partition, and the concepts of identity and migration, among others, they added "JLF Belfast will explore our common legacy of post-conflict literature, cultural and political impact.
