Abdellatif Kechiche sparks controversy with 'Mektoub, My Love: Intermezzo'

Filmmaker Abdellatif Kechiche is once again at the receiving end of critics and the audiences at the Cannes Film Festival for his film "Mektoub, My Love: Intermezzo", which sparked walkouts and major uproar over its explicit scenes. And now a report in French media has revealed that the 58-year-old director pressured his film's lead actors to perform those scenes. A report by French outlet Midi Libre claimed that Kechiche pressured the actors to engage in explicit sex scenes. "Kechiche absolutely wanted a non-simulated sex scene, something the actors didn't want to do. But by the way of insistence, and over time and with alcohol being regularly consumed, he managed to get what he wanted," a tweet translating the report read. Ajay Devgn's father, Veeru Devgan passed away due to cardiac arrest on Monday in Mumbai.According to sources, the late director was suffering from breathing problems after which he was immediately admitted to the Surya Hospital, Santa Cruz. Zach Galifianakis' "Between Two Ferns: The Movie", based on the actor's hit talk show of the same name, is set to have its premiere on Netflix on September 20 this year. The streaming giant has started working on a feature-length version of the talk show, which comes from comedy video website and production house, Funny or Die. Action director and Ajay Devgn's father Veeru Devgan dies in Mumbai

Veeru Devgan, the popular action director behind films such as "Roti Kapda Aur Makaan" and "Mr Natwarlal" and the father of actor Ajay Devgn, passed away here Monday morning. He was 77. The cause of death is immediately not known but family sources said Veeru had not been keeping well for some time. His funeral will be held at Vile Parle West Crematorium at 6 pm. Veeru, who hailed from Amritsar, ran away from his home to try his luck in films. He initially wanted to become an actor but became a stuntman and later an action choreographer, the veteran stunt director had recalled in several interviews. He, however, fulfilled his dream of breaking it big in Bollywood through son Ajay, considered one of the most successful and versatile actors of his generation. Veeru worked in more than 80 Bollywood films and did stunt work for major heroes such as Dilip Kumar, Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra among others.
