The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Advanced results were announced Sunday morning, with Ved Lahoti from IIT Delhi zone bagging the top rank by securing 355 out of 360 marks. A total of 48,248 candidates have qualified the exam for admission to IITs out of which 7,964 are female. According to IIT Madras, which conducted the exam this time, Dwija Dharmeshkumar Patel of IIT Bombay zone is the top-ranked female candidate with 322 out of 360 marks. Her all India rank is 7. Other candidates in top 10 are: Aditya (IIT Delhi zone), Bhogalpalli Sandesh (IIT Madras zone), Rhythm Kedia (IIT Roorkee zone), Putti Kushal Kumar (IIT Maadras), Rajdeep Mishra (IIT Bombay zone), Koduri Tejeswar (IIT Madras zone), Dhruvi Hemant Doshi (IIT Bombay zone) and Alladabona SSDB Sidhvik Suhas (IIT Madras zone). JEE-Main, which is the admission test for engineering colleges across the country, is the qualifying exam for JEE-Advanced.

A record 56 candidates, including two females, achieved 100 NTA score in engineering entrance exam JEE-Main, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Wednesday night. The qualifying percentile for JEE (Advanced), the entrance test for admission to the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), touched a five-year high. While 23 candidates in the JEE (Main) January session scored 100 NTA score, 33 candidates in the April session achieved it. The 56 toppers include 40 from the general category, 10 from the OBC category and six from the gen-EWS category. No candidate from the SC and ST categories managed to get 100 NTA score this year. Candidates appearing for engineering entrance exam JEE-Main will have to undergo frisking and biometric attendance after toilet breaks as well, according to National Testing Agency (NTA) officials. Officials, observers, staff members and even helps serving refreshments will have to undergo the same process, they said. "The move is aimed at ensuring there are no cases of use of unfair means or proxy attendance. We have strict mechanisms in place already but the idea is to make the exam completely foolproof to ensure there are zero incidents," NTA Director Subodh Kumar Singh said. At present, aspirants are screened at the entry and biometric attendance is also recorded there. "The same process will be extended to other exams as well in the longer run," Singh added.
