Popular 'Gujjar' face Ramesh Bidhuri wins South Delhi seat
BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri, a popular Gujjar face from the South Delhi constituency, Thursday won a second term from the seat, trouncing his rival, the AAP's Raghav Chadha, by a massive margin of 3,67,043 votes. The 57-year-old Bidhuri got 6,87,014 of the total 12,14,222 votes polled in the seat, while Chadha could secure only 3,19,971. Boxer-turned-Congress candidate Vijender Singh lost his deposit as he garnered a paltry 1,64,613 votes, less than one-sixth of the total votes polled. In 2014, Bidhuri had trounced Devendra Sherwat, who was then with the AAP, by a margin of 1,07,000 votes. The seat, where caste equations play a huge role, has been held by the likes of Sushma Swaraj and Madan Lal Khurana in the past. Maharashtra: BJP-Sena tally almost same as in 2014 LS polls
The BJP-Shiv Sena combine was ahead in 41 of the 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra, as per trends and results declared till 11.50 pm Thursday. While the BJP won 12 and was leading in 11 seats, the Sena won 10 and was leading in eight seats, poll officials said. The ruling alliance had secured 42 seats in 2014 elections. The Congress, which won two seats in 2014, suffered a setback, losing the Nanded seat and was leading in Chandrapur. The AIMIM was all set to have its first MP from the state as its nominee was on the verge of winning a keenly fought election in Aurangabad. The NCP has won three seats and was ahead in one seat. An Independent also won the poll. The winners include senior BJP leaders and Union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Subhash Bhamre from Nagpur and Dhule seats respectively. BJP's Bholanath records lowest victory margin; wins Machhlishahr seat by 181 votes
BJP's Bholanath won the Machhlishahr seat in Uttar Pradesh by just 181 votes, the lowest margin recorded in the Lok Sabha elections, defeating Tribhuvan Ram of the BSP. This is the lowest margin of victory among the results declared for more than 375 seats by the Election Commission of India (ECI) so far. Going by the latest available data, the victory margin of Bholanath -- who polled 4,88,397 votes -- is likely to be the lowest. Punjab untouched by Modi wave: Cong wins 8 seats, SAD-BJP 4 & AAP 1
Congress has won eight parliamentary seats in Punjab, bucking the pro-Modi trend seen across northern, central and eastern India in this general election. Out of the total 13 seats in the state, Congress romped home to impressive victory, surprising both the SAD-BJP combine and the Aam Aadmi Party and improving its tally from three in 2014 polls. BJP wins Darjeeling assembly bypolls, Congress bags Kandi
BJP's Neeraj Tamang Zimba won the Darjeeling assembly bypolls, defeating Independent candidate Binoy Tamang by a margin of 46,538 votes. Zimba polled 88,161 votes, while Tamang got 41623 votes. Polling was held in Darjeeling on April 18. In Kandi assembly bypolls, Congress's Shafiul Alam Khan defeated TMC's Goutam Roy by 21,120 votes. Khan got 79,698 votes, while Roy managed 58,578.

YSRC wins 90 seats, leading in 60 others;set for landslide
The YSR Congress on Thursday virtually decimated the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP and appeared on course for a landslide win in Andhra Pradesh with its candidates winning in 90 seats and leading in 60 others.
