Dhanlaxmi Bank on Monday reported a loss of Rs 8 crore for the first quarter of the current financial year. Against this, the bank had earned a net profit of Rs 28 crore in the April-June quarter of FY24. The bank's total income declined to Rs 338 crore in the first quarter as against Rs 341 crore in the same period a year ago, Dhanlaxmi Bank said in a regulatory filing. During the quarter the bank earned interest income of Rs 306 crore as against Rs 289 crore in the same period a year ago. The bank's gross non-performing assets (NPA) of the total advances declined to 4.04 per cent in the first quarter from 5.21 per cent at June-end last year. However, net NPAs rose to 1.26 per cent in June 2024 against 1.09 per cent same period a year ago.
State-owned Nalco on Monday reported a 76.3 per cent rise in consolidated profit at Rs 588.42 crore in the quarter ended June 2024. The company had posted a consolidated profit of Rs 333.76 crore in the year-ago period, National Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco) said in an exchange filing. However, the consolidated income of the company during April-June period declined to Rs 2,916.62 crore from Rs 3,226.88 crore in the year-ago period, the filing said. The board has recommended final dividend of Rs 2 per share for 2023-24, subject to the approval of shareholders in the ensuing annual general meeting. "The final dividend...if approved...will be paid within a period of 30 days from the date of declaration," it said. Air conditioning maker and engineering services provider Voltas Ltd on Monday reported an over two-fold jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 335 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2024, led by a "significant volume growth" from its room AC business. Jagran Prakashan Ltd, the publisher of Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, on Saturday reported a decline of 6.51 per cent in its consolidated net profit at Rs 41.03 crore in the first quarter ended June 2024. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 43.89 crore in the April-June quarter a year ago, according to a regulatory filing from Jagran Prakashan Ltd (JPL). Its revenue from operations was down 2.3 per cent to Rs 444.11 crore in the June quarter. It was at Rs 454.57 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. JPL's total expenses declined 2.28 per cent to Rs 409.82 crore in the June quarter of FY25. Its revenue from printing, publishing and digital was at Rs 303.54 crore, down 8 per cent year on year. Revenue from FM radio business was up 12.41 per cent to Rs 59.60 crore during the reporting quarter. Aurobindo Pharma on Saturday said its consolidated net profit increased 61 per cent year on year to Rs 919 crore in the first quarter ended June 2024, aided by strong sales across markets. The Hyderabad-based drug maker had reported a net profit of Rs 571 crore in the April-June quarter of last fiscal. Revenue from operations increased to Rs 7,567 crore in the June quarter as against Rs 6,851 crore in the year-ago period, the drug maker said in a statement. "We are pleased with our continued strong performance this quarter, with a significant top-line growth across all our business segments," Aurobindo Pharma Vice-Chairman and Managing Director K Nithyananda Reddy stated. The profitability was sustained by improved gross margins and operational efficiencies, while ramping up our recently commercialised plants, he added. "We are confident in our ability to achieve our growth targets for FY25," Reddy said.
Tata Group retail firm Trent Ltd on Friday reported a two-fold increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 391.21 crore for the first quarter ended June 2024. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 166.67 crore for April-June period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing from Trent Ltd, which operates retail stores under brand names Westside, Zudio and Star. Revenue from operations was up 56.15 per cent to Rs 4,104.44 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 2,628.37 crore in the year-ago period, it added. Sun TV Networks Ltd on Friday reported a decline of 5.48 per cent in its consolidated profit after tax at Rs 559.58 crore in the first quarter ended June 2024. The company had reported a PAT (profit after tax) of Rs 592.08 crore in the April-June period a year ago, according to a BSE filing from Sun TV Network, one of the largest broadcasters. Its revenue from operations was down 2.72 per cent to Rs 1,312.40 crore during the quarter under review. It was at Rs 1,349.22 crore in the year-ago period. Alkem Laboratories on Friday said its consolidated net profit increased by 91 per cent to Rs 550 crore in the first quarter ended June 2024, aided by robust sales. The drug firm had reported a net profit of Rs 288 crore in the April-June quarter of last fiscal. Total income increased to Rs 3,152 crore in the first quarter as against Rs 3,033 crore in the year-ago period, Alkem Laboratories said in a regulatory filing. Inox Wind Limited (IWL) on Friday posted a Rs 50 crore profit after tax during the June quarter on account of a surge in income. It had reported a loss of Rs 65 crore in the April-June quarter of the preceding financial year, the company said in an exchange filing. The company's total revenue surged 85 per cent to Rs 651 crore from Rs 352 crore in the year-ago period.
