The Allahabad High Court on Monday remanded back to a trial court in Mathura the Katra Keshav Dev Temple-Shahi Masjid Idgah land dispute. The Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board and the Shahi Masjid Idgah management committee moved the high court for the adjudication of the matter, saying it had wider implications. Disposing of their petitions, Justice Prakash Padia remanded back the matter to the trial court. Criticising previous governments for allegedly neglecting the development of Mathura, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said his government has launched projects worth Rs 32,000 crore that on completion would revive the grandeur and divinity of Mathura during the 'Dwapar era'. Stressing on the need to establish milk processing units at the tehsil level, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Wednesday asked the ISKCON administration to take the lead in the formation of "milk societies" in rural areas by associating women with them. "It will pave the way for increasing the income of cattle-owners," he said while inaugurating a dairy plant on the premises of the Bhakti Vedant Gurukul, the extension campus of ISKCON in the Ajhai area of Mathura. Though the state government is looking after nine lakh cows in the state, there is a need to improve their breed, he said. A bench comprising Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice JJ Munir was hearing a PIL on providing facilities to pilgrims who visit the temple in large numbers. Two devotees were killed and seven injured in a stampede-like situation at the temple during Janmashtami celebrations in August, sparking safety concerns. The bench asked the state government to clear its stand regarding the management of pilgrims visiting the temple and fixed the next hearing on November 17. Three people have been arrested here on Friday for attacking policemen, who had arrived to give a 'notice' related to a bypoll for the post of a village head, an official said. They tore a sub-inspector's uniform, opened fire at the policemen and pelted stones at them in Paigaon village under Shergarh police station area, the official said.
