Former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot's "Jan Sangharsh Yatra" on the issues of corruption and government recruitment exam paper leaks continued to draw support from people on its fourth day on Sunday. On Sunday, the dissident Congress leader resumed his foot march from Mehla town in Jaipur district and moved towards Mahapura, where he is scheduled to stay the night. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) on Tuesday termed media reports saying large lithium reserves being identified in Rajasthan as "baseless". "Media reports published in various newspapers regarding the finding of large lithium reserves by the Geological Survey of India (GSI), in Degana area, Nagaur district, Rajasthan are completely baseless and misleading," the survey organisation said. It is to state that no such information was provided neither by the regional headquarters nor by the central headquarters of the GSI, it said. It is to be informed that the GSI is carrying out exploration for tungsten, lithium and associated rare metals mineralisation in the Degana area, Nagour district, Rajasthan, since 2019-20 and the drilling work is still under progress. The resources will be established only after completion of the drilling work and finalisation of the report, it added.
The Rajasthan government on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 864 crore for daily inclusion of milk in mid-day meals to school students up to Class 8 across the state. At present, sweetened-hot milk is served twice a week in government schools under the 'Mukhyamantri Bal Gopal Yojana', launched on November 29, 2022. To further boost the nutritional value of the daily mid-day meals, milk will now be provided during the remaining four days as well for all students of classes 1 to 8, an official statement said. The scheme, announced by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in the 2023-24 state budget, will be started in government schools, madrassas and special training centers to ensure that students opting for mid-day meals are provided milk as well. According to the statement, Gehlot has approved a budget provision of Rs 864 crore for daily inclusion of milk in mid-day meals. Avaada Energy on Tuesday said it has bagged a 280 megawatt (MW) solar project from Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL). The project, bagged through a bidding process, will be commissioned within 18 months, the Avaada Group company said. As per the bid terms, the solar power generated from the project will be supplied to RUVNL for 25 years at a tariff of Rs 2.62 per kWh (kilowatt hour), it said in a statement. Avaada Energy CEO Kishor Nair said, "This is another feather in our cap as we expand our presence in Rajasthan. I am certain that such ambitious projects, built with collaborations with the government, will lead India to a greener future." The plant will generate about 500 million units per annum which will help to reduce 4,65,500 tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions annually. The solar project can potentially power 3.6 lakh households with green energy.

Large parts of Rajasthan witnessed below-normal temperatures over the last two months due to rains and thunderstorms triggered by back-to-back western disturbances, weather systems that originate in the Mediterranean region and bring unseasonal rainfall to northwest India. The unseasonably cool weather has affected the sale of cooling appliances. According to Sachin Gupta, president of Jayanti Market here, the sale of air conditioners has dropped 40 per cent compared to last year and that of coolers has seen a 60 per cent decline.
