No flag-planting scene in 'First Man' upsets Buzz Aldrin

Latvia chooses 'To Be Continued' for 91st Oscars

Latvia too is not lagging behind in the race for Oscars, as it officially chose the documentary film 'To Be Continued' to be submitted at the 91st Academy awards under the 'foreign language film' category.The film that has been directed by Ivars Seleckis focuses on the lives of several schoolchildren in Latvia, reported the Hollywood Reporter. The film has been shot over a span of two years.' To Be Continued' is a documentary which follows seven children living in different parts of Latvia, and belonging to different strata of the society, in a bid to explore their skills, values and hopes instilled in them by the past legacy and the current reality.Notably, 'To Be Continued' is Latvia's 10th film to be officially chosen for the 'foreign-language' since its independence in 1991. Deepika Padukone roped in for 'xXx' yet again

Months after speculations, it is finally confirmed that Deepika Padukone will star in the fourth installment of the 'xXx' franchise, alongside Hollywood actor Vin Diesel.Film's director DJ Caruso announced the same on Twitter after welcoming Chinese singer-actor Roy Wang to the 'xXx' family. Shilpi Sansad to produce a film to be directed by Goutam Ghosh

The Shilpi Sansad, an organisation founded by matinee idol Uttam Kumar five decades back, will produce a big canvas Bengali film to be directed by Goutam Ghosh in 2019, a top official of the organisation said on the acting legend's 92nd birthday Monday. Sadhan Bagchi, secretary of the shilpi sansad told PTI on the sidelines of a cultural function in memory of Uttam Kumar that the film, the title and subject of which was being decided, will cast several actors/actresses from Bengali film industry and will reflect the rich legacy of literary influence of Bengali cinema. Shilpi sansad chairperson Rituparna Sengupta told reporters that apart from the film to be directed by Ghosh, another Bengali film will also be produced by the sansad. HC imposes Rs 10k as costs on filmmaker Shankar

The Madras High Court Monday imposed Rs 10,000 as fine on filmmaker Shankar for not appearing in a case related to Rajinikanth-starrer 'Enthiran' and directed him to pay the amount to the Blue Cross Society. The matter relates to a civil litigation filed by Tamil writer Arur Thamil Nadan who submitted that the movie was based on his story and claimed Rs 1 crore as compensation. The court had directed Shankar to appear for cross-examination in this case. The filmmaker had submitted that he has enough material with him to establish that the story was nowhere connected to the writer. When the case came up before Justice M Sundar on Monday, Shankar's counsel submitted that the filmmaker was not able to appear in person as he was engaged with the shooting of a film. The petitioner's counsel submitted that his non-appearance meant only to drag on the proceedings. The judge posted the matter for further hearing to September 12 and imposed costs on Shankar.

Deepika Padukone's Serena Unger will be back for another adventure in Vin Diesel-starrer "xXx" franchise, director DJ Caruso confirmed Monday. The fourth film in the franchise will also star Chinese singer Roy Wang, he said on Twitter, welcoming him to the franchise. An Indian fan wrote back asking whether Deepika will be a part of the film, Caruso replied with a "yes" and added that they were working on the script.
