A father-son duo was among three persons who were killed in a road accident in Dausa district of Rajasthan on Sunday, police said. In the collision between an SUV, car and a motorcycle near the Mandawari Police Station, five others sustained injuries. The deceased included Rajendra Meena (30) and his sonRahul Meena (5), who were riding the motorcycle and Hemraj Mali (50), the driver of the SUV, police said, adding that a woman and four others were injured in the accident. The bodies were handed over to family members after postmortem, the police added.

British Airways (BA) resumed its flights to Pakistan on Sunday, more than 10 years after it halted the service to that country following a bomb blast. Three persons were killed and another one injured Sunday in a collision between two trucks in Chhattisgarh's Korba district, police said. The accident occurred near Parla village under Bango police station area, a local police official said. The deceased included the driver of a truck and two helpers, he said, adding that the driver of another truck sustained minor injuries. The deceased driver is identified as Bablu Yadav (35), and the helpers as Santosh Mishra (43) and Anil Kumar Yadav (19). They were residents of Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, he said. The injured was admitted in local hospital, the official said, adding that a case has been registered.
The International Copper Association India (ICA India) has made a case for the introduction of "safety star rating" system in household insulated electrical wiring, on the lines of energy efficient ratings. The association has approached the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to come out with such ratings, which could play a positive part in reducing electrical accidents in buildings. "We are in talks with BIS officials for the safety star rating," ICA India Chief Manager (Building Wire), Amol Kaleskar, told PTI. In West Bengal alone, around 376 electrical mishaps were reported in the last one year, of which 196 resulted in fatalities, officials said. Asked about operating in the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) scenario, Kaleskar said, "We have already been working with the Maharastra RERA to introduce Form 2B for electrical safety declaration, in line with the new National Electrical Code of India.

Power generating companies have asked state-run Coal India to increase the supply of the dry fuel from Korba area in Chhattisgarh through rail wagons to help them reduce transportation cost as well as tariffs for end-consumers. Korba region serves 20 per cent of the domestic coal supply but Coal India-arm South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL) is able to meet only 55 per cent of its demand from the region through rail, according to Association of Power Producers (APP). The APP in a letter to Coal India chief Anil Kumar Jha mentioned that power producers are incurring around 25 per cent higher costs to move coal by road as against rail mode. Against a demand of 45 rakes per day, Korba area is currently loading only 25 rakes per day, the APP said. Due to lack of supply through railways, power producers are compelled to bank on inefficient and expensive truck transportation for coal procurement. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on Sunday rescued four of the 12 missing members of a Nanda Devi mountaineering team on the second day of the search operation.Zachary Qauin (32), Kate Armstrone (39), Ian Wade (45) and Mark Taomas (44), all belonging to the United Kingdom (UK), were sent to Pithoragarh from Nanda Devi base camp with the help of an Indian Air Force helicopter.They were administered first aid at the helipad.Vijay Kumar Jogdande, District Magistrate (DM) of Pithoragarh, said the rescue operation would resume tomorrow since there was a possibility of an avalanche in the area."Four mountaineers have been rescued. At least four people were wounded after a cruise liner smashed into a dock in Venice's Giudecca canal on Sunday.The ship has since been identified as MSC Opera, according to Sputnik. The vessel reportedly lost control, leading to the incident.The hull of the 275-meter-long ship was damaged when the incident occurred. State-owned Coal India Ltd (CIL) produced 46.59 million tonnes of coal in May, registering a decline of 1.1 per cent from the year-ago period, as per a regulatory filing. CIL had produced 47.12 million tonnes of coal in the same month last year, it said in a BSE filing Sunday. Coal offtake during May 2019 fell about 1.4 per cent to 52.09 million tonnes as compared to 52.81 million tonnes in the year-ago period, it added. The production and offtake figures are provisional, the company said.
A major mishap was averted after a holiday special train was halted in Manmad during early hours of Sunday after one of the wheels of its last bogie was found to be damaged.No passenger was injured in the incident. Local media reported that some injuries -- the first resulting from an accident involving an automated train in 30 years -- appeared to be serious but non-life-threatening. The train hit the buffer stop at Shin-Sugita station after travelling the wrong way for about 20 metres (65 feet), Akihiko Mikami, president of the train operator, said in a midnight press conference. At least two persons were killed and four others went missing after a landslide hit a temporary work shed in China's southern Guangdong Province in the early hours of Sunday. The landslide hit a three-story shed in Dagangping Village in the city of Yangjiang, burying six people. So far, rescuers have found the bodies of two victims, state-run Xinhua news agency reported. A seven-year-old boy and his four-year-old sister were killed when a wall of an under-construction building collapsed here, police said Sunday. The incident took place at Bhamiya road on the outskirts of the city on Saturday evening, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Rajpal Singh said.
